I had a quick coffee and croissant in this place (branch in Maida Vale) and my friend decided to have some salad before getting a train back to Manchester. She asked how the salad bar worked (there was no price list) and was told that the guy would fill the box with whatever she wanted. This information was a tad vague to say the least and even stranger that we were encouraged to sit down and eat before paying (alarm bells should have been ringing at this point!).
When I came to pay the bill for my coffee and croissant and the salad the total was £22 - I almost choked! The salad came in at a whopping price of £15!! It was a salad!?! We asked for this to be explained but again we received a very vague response. We were told that as a gesture of goodwill they could give us a couple of little cakes to take away - obviously we took them up on this offer.
So be warned: if you want value for money, do not go to this overpriced chain with totally incompetent staff!

Good place to go for snacks. Love having coffee and pastry in late morning.

I have just had lunch and been charged a £9.50 mark up on my lunch for the privilege of eating in rather than taking away from the deli. Outrageous! Good food, but an absolute rip-off.

Love the pastries and deli snacks here and it's generally a nice place to stop off for breakfast or a coffee with friends whilst in the area. Quite an upmarket crowd sat outside during good weather, as you'd expect given the location.
