Elizabeth Arden Red Door reviews
I went there for a facial, a manicure and a pedicure. The girl who did my facial had smelly fingers as possibly she didn't wash her hands after a cigarette, so I felt a bit disappointed. Then the manicurist did a completely different manicure than the one I had booked for! Rooms not clean and very untidy... I certainly will not go back there again.

I was treated by my boyfriend to a lovely signature massage and signature facial. It was very pampering, professional, and I felt totally relaxed afterwards. Thanks to the staff for my great experience!

Had a marvellous back facial with the lovely Zoe. The pumpkin scrub was gorgeous and smelt like Christmas pudding! All the staff were charming, attentive and extremely professional; the reception staff, in particular, were fantastic. All in all, a very enjoyable experience!

I booked for eyebrow plucking as my skin is sensitive and, due to medication that has thinned my skin, I cannot be waxed. The beautician knew this as it was written on my card and I had booked in for plucking, not waxing. I lay down on the bed and she put hot wax on my eyebrows! I reminded her of my tablets and she blamed me for her using wax. My skin was ripped off and she said "Well, you know you should be careful". After her arguing with me about this I went upstairs to the manager (who was very nice) and was very upset. I told them I would not be paying for the treatment at all. I also thought the room was tired and not the cleanest. Steer clear!

My experience with the Red Door Spa, Mayfair was outstanding. A glorious welcome from the reception team - I was taken on a spa tour and relaxed immediately. All the staff greeted me and uplifted my festive spirit. I would definitely recommend and return to the spa.

The girl who did my mani/pedi was great, but the room was terrible - falling apart and dirty. The bathroom smells unhygienic. I had a body scrub and massage on one occasion. The shower was cold and just a trickle (and I mean really cold!), the piped music was not working. On another occasion I was treated to a full day there. What a rip off! At the end they were hurrying me through. For the makeup, the staff made me feel I was being a nuisance holding them up but happily charged me the full whack for an incomplete bad job - no ideas for makeup, just did what I do for work!
I would not recommend it till the premises are improved and it gives value for the high fees they charge.

I highly recommend them. The staff are friendly and management are extremely experienced and professional. Definitely somewhere to visit if looking for a satisfying indulgence.

I've been going to Anna for a pedicure for 6 months - she's great. I've also had a couple of facials with Zoe & I also think she's good.
I'd really recommend them.
I had a deep tissue massage & frankly it was very dull.
The decor is tired but it is peaceful & staff pleasant.

I recently had a bikini wax there and it was almost completely painless. The hot wax was not too hot, and it worked! Ten days later and no in-grown hairs. The treatment was also done in a proper treatment room and I was given time to undress/redress. An extremely good treatment and extremely well priced. I am going back for a 'lighten up' facial this week and expect the same friendly, straightforward treatment.

I used to be a regular client at EA, as it was close to my work and reasonable. They had a fantastic Irish nail technician, but she has left and no one else is on a par. I went a couple of weeks ago for a mani/pedi and ended up complaining. It took me weeks to get my money back. I'll stick to Leighton Denny at Harrods, where I know I'll get a good job!

I completely agree with all the negative reviews submitted so far. I was given a pregnancy massage and hair/make-up as a gift for Christmas and, although Elizabeth Arden would never have been my brand of choice, I nonetheless expected high, albeit old-fashioned, standards. The reality could not have been further from this if it had tried: a very out-of-date environment (haven't Elizabeth Arden execs even looked at the quality of contemporary day spas out there?); indifferent and inept staff; poor hygiene; and not value for money. Come on EA, there are no excuses for such a shoddy place - it only reinforces the perception that you are a dying brand.

I treated my sister in February to a 'Life's an Experience' package. I was disappointed for her, as I had raved about EA having been before. We felt rushed and unimportant. We thought we would be in the same area having our manicures but for some reason that couldn't be arranged. The make-up session was rushed and we could have done the same ourselves. I have another friend who tells me she is thinking of visiting EA and I'm seriously thinking of telling her not to. It would take a lot of coaxing for me to come back.

I was really disappointed with my trip here. I had booked a 'Signature' massage, and there was nothing signature about it - the masseur completely skipped the consultation I was supposed to have and it was not 'tailored' to my needs as described at all. It was also cut short in time, despite the fact that there was a ticking clock right next to my head the whole time. I've had a lot of massages that cost less than half the price of here but were twice as good. I wouldn't go again.

I had an eyelash tint and came out with sore, bloodshot eyes. I thought they had blinded me! Dreadful.

There are better places to go to in central London in my opinion. The hygiene standards were not that great, and the company is not best represented by its staff.

Quite awful. The facial was not nice, the beautician had very bad garlic breath. The manicurist was good, but the room was dingy and uncomfortable. The place in general felt old, tired, and dirty. To top it all, the lady at the till tried to rip me off! Keep well clear!

Had a fab facial. Staff are wonderful. I've booked for another, a Christmas treat to myself (shhhhhhh... don't tell the hubby!)

All rooms were in the basement, which smelt of damp! All the therapists looked about 16, and the facial was no better than I get in Norfolk.

Have we missed a great salon in London? Let us know.
