Chef Mark Hix follows his successful Hix Oyster and Chop House in Smithfield Market with this, his second London restaurant venture. Like the Oyster & Chop House, the menu at HIX is distinctly British. As is the artwork - artists including Tracy Emin, Damien Hirst, Tim Noble and Sue Webster have created exclusive pieces for the restaurant and downstairs bar.

Decor was boring - artwork was barely noticeable. We didn't eat, but had drinks at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable about his whiskey. Overall it was a fun night but a one-dimensional, one-time affair. Wouldn't go back.

I am a huge fan of the Clerkenwell Hix and was disappointed with the quality of the food and service in the Soho version. Wouldn't go back.
