Chadwick's Organic Butchers reviews
Very disappointing. A dreadful piece of Silverside consisting of fat and gristle and at an outrageous price of £13.07 for 1.1kg (£5.40 per pound!). Don't waste your time and money at Chadwick's, buy your meat from Waitrose.

After reading the reviews some of you have written saying that Chadwick's is a friendly shop, I went to have a look for myself on Saturday. I was disgusted with the way Mr Chadwick spoke to his staff, as if they were a piece of dog dirt he had just stood in. He should be ashamed of himself. I'm amazed he has any staff left.

It's Christmas Eve and I am sitting waiting for a delivery from Chadwick's that was due to arrive yesterday. We've left dozens of messages and even visited the shop to find out where Christmas lunch is, only to be met with surly responses and no indication of when our order might arrive. Terrible customer service. Avoid!

Bought 2 sirloin steaks there yesterday and they were among the best I have tasted. Will be back again soon.

After a visit to Balham and the friendliest butchers I have ever visited, I find it hard to comprehend what 'padds and ducane' are talking about. Chadwick's are top notch on their customer service from the counter staff as well as the knowledge and experience from the butchers. Well done Mr Chadwick, your staff all deserve a pay rise and you should be proud of all of them.

What can one say, apart from well done Chadwick's on your superb displays of the finest meat and outstanding customer care. The meat I have purchased from this shop is far superior to that from the local supermarkets or any other local butchers. The skill and knowledge of the butchers is first class and the counter staff are very polite in their service. I will be back time after time.

The meat I have bought has been excellent. Pity the same thing cannot be said of the unfriendly service.

Meat can vary in quality from outstanding to very average. Prices are generally not competetive with supermarket organic bands. Also, be very careful with your interpretation of 'Organic' - unless the item in Chadwick's is tagged with the word organic, it is not organic. I find the word 'Organic' in the shop title to be very misleading (as far from all their products are actually classified as organic). As a result I trust the Chadwick's brand as much as I trust a supermarket brand (i.e. not a lot), which is a shame as I was genuinely excited to find what I thought was an all-organic 'old school' butcher on the high street.

The meat from this butchers is always fantastic. All pork and pork products are great - the pork chops and steaks just taste unlike any other pork. Chicken is always tender and full of flavour. Have had the lamb and steak before and both are also good. The mince is fantastic (my fiance is a good test of the quality of the cuts used - i.e. she doesn't find any bits of gristle/bone in the mince or sausages!) The price is always worth it, and check out their special offers like the magnificent seven - a great way to eat quality meat at a great price. Olives are good too, but pricey.

I was disappointed when I asked for nice slices of ham off the bone to be told that I would have to have the remnants off the old ham before the new one would be opened. Gee, thanks so much for your customer service, I really feel valued.

Excellent quality meat. Only been once but the lamb was the best I've had in the UK. Will be back! It ain't cheap but it's worth it.

We cycle to Chadwick's every week, because that is how good the place is. They have a great family atmosphere to the service, and in the last year I have only had a problem with one cut of meat. Otherwise superb - nothing compares.

One thing you notice about the atmosphere when you go into Chadwick's is that it is real, lively and friendly. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and the environment is very warm. Then you try the meats and the bacon and you find they really do meet your expectation. The steaks are fabulous, the sausages unbelievable (try the Londoner) and the dry cure bacon which they cure themselves is unbelievable (delicate in flavour and tender). Well done and keep up the good work!

Having bought meat for special occasions - like Christmas and dinner parties - on many occasions since it opened, I have to say that the quality has always been superlative if a little pricey.

Fantastic quality organic and free-range meats. This is what we should all be eating, not that plastic rubbish from the supermarket. The pork pies are delicious also.
