I recently turned up to collect a cake at 8:50, thinking that the shop closed at 9pm instead of 8:30pm. There were two employees still there, cleaning. One of them, a lady called Manuela, let me in when I explained my mistake. She got me my cake, let me check it was the right one and even offered to put a ribbon around the box. I was really impressed with the service she gave, as it would have been so easy for her to turf me out of the shop. It made such a diffence to my evening. Thank you Manuela!

We ordered our wedding cake from PV, 215 Brompton Road branch, and they couldn't do enough for us at the time. However, on our wedding day, the cake arrived 3.5 hours late. As it was an evening wedding, most of our guests had left and missed out on an important part of the day. It was also the wrong style, and the wrong colour cake. After our honeymoon the MD said that we were lucky to have got a cake in the first place, made no apology whatsoever and said that we should have returned the cake!! Beware! these people just want to take your money and don't care about the customer.

Delightful and interesting cafe with the historical links to Boswell and Dr Johnson. Great ambiance and wonderful food.
