Troubadour Cafe reviews
What is this place doing on Urban Path?
I went to Troubadour Cafe as I heard that it was something of an institution. Perhaps it used to be, but totally below average food, bad coffee and couldn't care less attitude of the staff will make sure I never go back again.
The plus is a semi-nice back patio when the weather is nice; however, it gets so crammed that even that does not add much to the value of the place.

I have to say that the food at the Troubadour hasn't been that great lately... well, for the last few years actually. I really miss the time that I used to eat nice simple fresh food but I don't think that is happening any more. Bring the old chefs back!

As a venue to see gigs it is perfect but I can't say the same about the food in the cafe upstairs. The salad dressing was gloopy and processed and the enchilladas seemed to me to have been heated up to nuclear proportions from a value freezer pack. Yuk... and pricey beers too.

Simply put: awful! Not at all a place to beat the credit crunch, more a place to buy overpriced, unloved food. Not much passion in the place. I recently sat near the kitchen and that was like watching the blind leading the blind. Then apparently the boss waded in and made a mess of stuff even more - shambles! Oh yes, and a while back I was in there when a customer shrieked at finding a COCKROACH crawling the wall! The customer was told that they were nothing to worry about by a member of staff!!

Busy little place with a unique charm & nice simple food. Definitely can recommend for a relaxed afternoon tea or sunday breakfast.

Decent food at a decent price (for the area). The Troubadour's charm lies in its ambiance. The decor, the staff, the owners, the selection and - dare I say it - the clientele are some of the most colourful in West London. In an area filled with bankers and vapid Slones, the Troubadour is an artistic oasis.

Nice sugar-shock puds, a decent cup of tea and they let you sit there for as long as you like.
They kept opening the doors, though, so it was freezing inside when I went.
There's a lovely little garden space behind, with pots of pansies and furniture. The staff is polite and friendly in a restrained way.

Look just beneath the surface of this 'quaint, bohemian cafe' and you will see a commercial baby trying to take on more than it can chew and therefore failing miserably. Speaking of miserable, just take a look at the staff. Simple rule in hospitality - if the venue is genuinely fun to work in, the staff will actual like their job.

This is a firm favourite, even if the food can be a little on the bland side. Really brilliant atmosphere, and wonderful in summer if you can get a table outside. Not too pricey and friendly staff.
