La Maison du Chocolat offers handmade French chocolates in a sophisticated Parisian-style setting. Black-suited staff guide you through chocolatier Robert Linxe's creations, the emphasis always on the finest and freshest ingredients (no preservatives are used, so most have a limited shelf-life). Flavours are subtle yet profound, and packaging is exquisite.

I ordered 2 boxes of chocolates and 8 little praline rochers from La Maison du Chocolat. A box was dully delivered but contained only one box of chocolates and the 8 rochers. I have tried phoning (got through to an answerphone but no one got back in touch) and emailed twice, with the same result of being completely ignored. I have received no answer or acknowledgement of any kind.
The chocolate is good, but not the best I have tasted, and since I ended up paying £75 for a small box of chocolates and 8 pralines, I have found that La Maison du Chocolat left a rather bitter taste in my mouth. You might consider going to the shop, but beware that this is a company that does not know how to deal with events when things go wrong. In any case, avoid the online 'service' at all cost.

It is just a shame to sell frozen chocolate at such a high price... Yes, they are frozen in Paris then sent to London, New York, etc ready frozen.

Very 'restaurant-y' atmosphere. Challenging to independently browse at the products without being continually asked questions regarding what I like. However, beautiful shop and clean, sophisticated-looking chocolates. The ganaches were smooth and the flavours were subtle. Very tasty.

Yes, La Maison du Chocolat is good, but
Melt (in Notting Hill) is even better - everything there is made on site, not like some!

The champagne truffles are simply to die for. Possibly the best chocolate in the world.

Bad when you order by mail, and send complaints, you get nothing back.

The intoxicating smell that absorbs you the second you walk in the door it almost enough to kill the chocolate craving!! Thankfully, it doesn't (barely) and you're left to indulge in what can only be described as the best thing on the planet.

I urge you to go in, if only to experience of the wonderful chocolate narcotic aroma when you enter the shop. It's how all shops should be, great products, knowledgeable staff and truly welcoming.

Brilliant! The staff are really nice and helpful and even let you try a few chocolates if you are unsure. Great place to buy chocolates for special occasions!
