Lanesborough reviews
By far the greatest afternoon tea served in London. The Conservatory provides a beautifully calming atmosphere and their scones and clotted cream are unmatched!

by Anonymous, 23 Jan 2007Afternoon tea: sadly, the price is up and the quality down.
Soft rolls do not enhance smoked salmon. Ginger cake very dry. Fancy cakes were chocolate mallow!
The tea cake was the worst though - it resembled black pudding. Did not complain, as entertaining an American friend on their first visit to Lanesborough.
I ate here for afternoon tea. The staff are beyond helpful and courteous, especially with children - my younger sister decided that she didn't like tea (helpful) and they brought out a whole jug of hot chocolate, which somewhat reminded me of the Polar Express. We were able to eat as much as we liked, and the food was very dainty and quaint (although the edges of the bread were a little dry). The atmosphere was so refreshing in the Conservatory. We were able to have privacy despite the place being spacious, as there are nice little corners where you can tuck away.
