The Royal Opera House is the permanent year-round home of both The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet companies. There have been three incarnations of the theatre on this historic Covent Garden site since the 1700s, the current building having opened in 1999. Nowadays daytime opening to the visiting public allows thousands of visitors, as well as opera-goers, to enjoy the spacious interior, exhibitions, shop, restaurant and a very impressive bar located in the Floral Hall.
