Like its neighbour Gilgamesh situated above it, Shaku-Zulu is a behemoth of a place. Set over two floors, occupying 27,00 sq ft and seating a potential 800-plus, this bar/restaurant/club cost £5.5m to bring to life. Inside, elaborate murals and carved friezes adorn every wall and furnishings are variously zebra-striped, leopard-spotted and shell-encrusted. The South African cuisine on offer includes springbok fillet, 7-hour spit-roasted Dorper lamb and national dish 'bobotie'. All in all, not for the faint-hearted.

A great place to go out and dance when you're sick of the same old clubs. The atmosphere is so different from any other club I've ever been to. The music is fun and cocktails are delicious! Happy hour is on until 7pm and there's no cover charge if you eat there first. Can't wait to go back again!
