This place has gone downhill since management changed last year. No discretion whatsoever exercised on the door; incompetent staff who do not know how to make a decent cocktail; pretentious idiots who think that this is actually a really cool place to be. Need I say more?
by Joey, 07 Aug 2007I have to disagree with its high rating, which makes it seem the best private club in this selection. Although the place is quite cosy and drinks are good and not too expensive, the space is very limited and the staff not very friendly or competent. It's a place to have a first drink or two, but then you'd do better to move on.
by bpmorgan, 28 Dec 2006This place is fantastic! Like no other members' club in London. Staff could do with a kick up the ar*e sometimes though...
by Anonymous, 08 Aug 2006Went on a Friday, arrived around 11pm and the place was pretty empty. Drinks took ages to arrive and the waiter seemed fairly incompetent. Club downstairs was a disappointment. It was a shame because I was genuinely thinking of joining this place if it was any good.
by Legal Alien (11 reviews), 24 Mar 2006Had my birthday party here. Granted the basement isn't anything mega - but you haven't lived until you've been upstairs. Overall a great night, and without 43, my life wouldn't be as fun.
Staff are a bit useless, and music is hit and miss, but great cocktails, and just a vibe that lets you do whatever you want, and loose the pretentious inhibitions I find at so many other places. It's a laugh.
I was there for the first time last night and don't think it's all that. It's definitely intimate, giving off that house party vibe. Yet the decor isn't as great as I thought it would be and the seating areas appear awkward. Drinks were fine and not too expensive; the service was OK.
A place like Sketch is much more exciting, hip and fun to be at. This place here was interesting to have a few drinks at, but I wouldn't be keen on going back. It somehow lacks character.
Absolutely fantastic in every way possible. The staff are fabulous, the drinks are gorgeous and the lunches are superb. If you get membership you'll be quietly laughing to yourself in the corner, sipping your drink and wondering how come you never discovered this place sooner. A must!!
by deeply london (5 reviews), 15 Feb 2006The worst service I've ever encountered in this fair city. I was made to feel like my custom was unwanted. I got given the wrong drinks and then charged double for them. If only they were as interested in their customers as they were in their social lives.
by London lass, 19 Jan 2006Outstanding... Great cocktail list (I especially love the new aloe drink mixer!). The bar staff are friendly and the vibe is off the scale - cool! If you can get in, you'll know why you're lucky.
by JimmyG (2 reviews), 15 Nov 2005Have you all been to the same place I was!? Very average, slightly dowdy and the faintest bit dull.
by Anonymous, 06 Oct 2005Exceptional... without doubt one of the coolest private members bars in the world at the moment...
by Ashley, 21 Jul 2005Really enjoyed it - friendly without being fussy - couldn't have been more accommodating - just surprised that having asked for my business card and being only a few doors away, no one bothered to contact me regarding membership. Was I cool enough? I got my answer I suppose!
by Chippy, 28 Jun 2005Have we missed a great bar in London? Let us know.
