A little piece of Swedish Lapland lands in Mayfair with the arrival of London's first Ice Bar. A collaboration between Absolut and Ice Hotel, the Ice Bar is a -5°c vodka bar where everything from the bar stools to the glasses is made from crystal clear ice imported from the Torne river, 200 km within the arctic circle.

Ice Bar reviews

This is a good bar that provides adequate value for money. The strength of the bar lies in its uniqueness. The management quite rightly market the Ice Bar very well, and this results in a well-frequented resource. Drinks are expensive, as is admission. Overall, users enjoy the experience of a visit to the Ice Bar, albeit not too often.

For those of you who complain that it's freezing cold and just decorated with ice, well 'doh', it is an ice bar! However, I will agree that it is a very grim ice bar, in a very grim basement. It isn't a patch on its sister bar in Stockholm.

Pricey, but I loved every minute that I was there! I thought the cloaks were funny and I loved the ice glasses. The whole place had a touch of magic about it. Definitely wouldn't mind going again. And no, I am not paid to write this!

I absolutely loved the Ice Bar. Went there for part of my hen night. I have some fab pictures. It is cold - but if it was not, the place would melt! The free cocktail was lovely and so novel in ice glasses. The capes and gloves made the experience even funnier. We danced and laughed, it was brill. However, I went with FUN people (not boring), so it does depend on the group you go with.

There are definitely a lot of mixed reviews here. I think it is a great thing to try out, as an experience. Inside is a little smaller than I expected but that does not take away from the effect. The lights and music really add to the experience as well. The drinks are quite pricey but really nice - I had 4 in total, so spent £30 including entrance fee.

Ice Bar was awful. It's freezing cold, even with the coats and gloves they give you. The decoration is really boring and stark - just a couple of lumps of ice. The drinks are disgusting and the ice glasses are flown in from Sweden. Why?!! Can't we make ice in the UK and cut down on our carbon footprint?! The whole place is an environmental joke! It was really dull - we left well before our time was up. BORING!

Ice Bar is a real joke! First you have to pay £15 to get in (a drink is included in the price but they are bloody awful!), the bar itself is about 30m square, there are only 2 tables, and the decor is really bad! I really thought it was a rip off. For those that found it amazing, did they pay you to write those reviews?

I went to the Ice Bar on a hen weekend. We had been to see the Dirty Dancing show and this really topped it off well. It was a unique experience. Included in the £15 you pay to get in, you get a complimentary cocktail in an ice glass. Well worth it in my opinion for this one-off experience. Can't understand people who moan, moan, moan! Get a life!!

Complete rip-off! No atmosphere at all, appalling customer service (or should I say non-existent), no music and not particularly clean either. Ugh!

A ridiculous rip-off. Devoid of any semblance of character or meaningful purpose. I fail to understand how I got fooled into visiting this bar and parting with my hard earned. Save yourself the money and time and go elsewhere.

Was wonderful! Made even more enjoyable due to the rather hot and steamy bartender. Almost made me (and the bar) melt... Loved the whole 45 minutes of staring.

I would say don't bother going - £15 quid to sit in a freezer in a smelly coat. I was expecting an 'Ice Bar', instead what we got was more like a freezer lorry with a few blocks of ice for seats. On top of that, expensive drinks that are way way overpriced even for this part of London, and bar staff that barely acknowledge your existence. Steer clear!

I have not been to the Ice Bar and doubt I will, due to the fact that their website doesn't do it any favours. Prices should be displayed and the menu too.

A great experience, definitely a must! Good service by bar staff and not overcrowded. 45 minutes is just the right amount of time in the bar too.

Complete rip off. If you want to spend 20 minutes in a meat freezer wearing a sticky plastic cloak, listening to Norwegian death-rock, and waiting for one shot of Absolut to be served to you by a lazy, arrogant bartender before you're kicked out, then go right ahead - spend the £15 on the experience!

Totally something new to me. It's a cool place to be in. Great for the long hot summer... Ice! Ice! Baby.

Ice Bar for my 23rd birthday was great. It was so weird being completely surrounded by ice, drinking at an ice table with ice glasses. Lots of vodka cocktails to choose from. It wasn't too cramped and although there's a set time limit they don't rush you at all. Loved it... the only reason I wouldn't go back too soon is to make it special for the next time I go.

Wow, we visited the Ice Bar during the day and it was so cool. We were lucky enough to get a voucher from a guy dressed as a yeti outside, and got a special discount. A daytime trip is recommended!
