Lucky Voice Karaoke reviews
After eventually finding this (it's below Yo Sushi but not well signposted), we had an absolute blast. Yes, it wasn't cheap and, yes, the service was nothing special. But you make your own party, and the choice of songs and the opportunity to set your playlist before going is great.
by MillyMolly, 17 Feb 2008The service they provide is extremely expensive and definitely not as good as the karaoke in Asia. I doubt I would go there again.
by kgirl, 08 Feb 2007Went first last year with some girl friends & they loved it! Have been back twice with different friends, and they all loved it! Great night out, might be a tad overpriced - but I laughed so much I could hardly 'speal' the next day!
by Anonymous, 10 Apr 2006Just an amazing time with good friends. They have a huge selection of songs and great drinks. We tried the food, which to our surprise was really good.
Maybe a bit expensive but worth the good laugh.
They stated the Monday - Wednesday price for a Friday night booking and charged us £70 more than they had stated - and weren't particularly friendly either!
by michaeljackson, 25 Mar 2006I went to Lucky Voice for the second time after deciding to give it another go. To me, it seems to be all about the money and I can't believe they turn the final song off before giving you a 5 minute or so reminder that your time is coming to an end. I know it's more of a fancy venue than the original Karaoke Box, but this place is mutton dressed as lamb. I'm going back to the Karaoke Box - it's the original and still the best and doesn't need to masquerade as anything other than a thoroughly good time.
by Croonie Leftie, 11 Mar 2006I spent a year living in Japan, and I'd say this place is really authentic. If you're up for something that isn't quite as rough around the edges as Karaoke Box on Frith street, and don't mind spending a little bit extra for the futuristic Bladerunner vibe then I'd definitely recommend this place.
But expensive drinks, limited time, getting hassled to clear out when your time's up are all part of the Japanese karaoke experince, so if you don't like the sound of that don't go to Japanese karaoke! But I don't think many people would fail to have a blast here.
This was the sort of place where you know that when they turn the lights on it's filthy. They suggest entertaining clients but I don't think I'd be happy entertaining clients somewhere with no toilet roll and an absent loo seat. I'd much rather take clients to the Frith Street venue because at least it isn't trying to be something it's not. Karaoke in London is overpriced but this was ridiculous. And I totally agree that being hassled out of the room was unnecessary, especially given that they were late letting us into our room.
by Stone, 14 Dec 2005Fantastic if you want a brill night with your mates. This is a great option, no problems whatsoever; we would have loved to have stayed longer. Top place which has to be experienced; X Factor eat your heart out...
by Darryl, 04 Dec 2005Fantastic value, good food and drink, great songs and we could sing loud even though we are tone deaf. A great hour.
by garden, 31 Oct 2005A really great alternative night out, cocktails are amazingly good - only annoying thing is the interruptions - particularly at the end when we were told we could only finish our last song if we cleared out of the room in 10 seconds! Having spent £390 in there we would have liked more than 10 seconds to gather our belongings! Fun goes where you make it - it was a real laugh!
by Anonymous, 15 Sep 2005Too expensive and pretentious and yes, the interruptions were VERY annoying!
by Anonymous, 04 Sep 2005Had a little birthday party there and had a fantastic time. All my friends agreed that it was a great laugh. Highly recommended if you want to do something different and indulge your exhibitionist side.
by purple haze (2 reviews), 03 Sep 2005I went there with a few friends for a birthday treat and had a good time but wasn't happy with the constant reminders towards the end of our hired time that we had to leave. I counted five interruptions in the last 15 minutes. They could have been a little more subtle.
