Opal reviews
Me and my friends went there last Thursday night. It is small but intimate with a great atmosphere, and you very soon feel part of the Opal family. They have recently refurbished the loos and other bits! All the staff are very friendly and you are very well looked after. The cocktails are gorgeous. It's a cool little hang out with a good DJ and amazing live music on Thursdays. Give it a try.

Wow - if you think this club is classy, you guys seriously don't go out enough. This is the club my friends and I go to when we don't have ID. And we're not in uni, FYI.

Utterly awful. Was told by the restaurant it would be great to go after dinner. Got in there, was asked to pay and was snubbed by a clearly unprofessional, scruffy promoter. The theme was pirates. No one was dressed as pirates, the staff were rude, and we were denied a table although the place was empty... Never again.

I paid a £10 cover charge. When I used the restroom, the bathroom attendant literally barred my way to prevent me from leaving without tipping her. I immediately suspected she was taking advantage of me being American, but I shoved out 60 pence. She flatly told me "It's not enough!", so I asked her "How much do you want?", by this time entirely annoyed but I didn't want to cause a scene. She said £1, so I gave her that. It was completely unclassy and I'm going to spread the word that Opal is an asstomouth club.

Went for the second time, this time for my birthday. Great up-to-date music and a nice crowd. Couldn't have asked for a better evening!

Utterly bizarre. Decor was terrible - brought to mind London Zoo (the bit where the penguins live and the bit where the monkeys live). Mirrors on the ceiling - what the...?? Music was r'n'b from 8 years ago.

I've been there several times now. It has a fantastic atmosphere. I will agree that there's not enough seating but I wouldn't say it's bad beacause of that. Very friendly and fun to be there.

Awesome little place. Prices are competitive and staff are great. Music changes throughout the night but is mostly R'n'B and Hip Hop stuff. Cool vibe, friendly staff, not too hard or too expensive to get in either. Makes for a great night. (A word of warning: getting there early is advisable if you want to get a table and haven't booked.)

Despite my name being on the list and friends drinking champagne already at a table inside, obnoxious staff at the door kept me outside for half an hour. I had to get 5 friends out of the club to get the manager's attention. They must have too good business to treat high-paying customers in such a way. I will not go there again.

The bar was beat up, dirty and in total need of renovation.
Maybe if the music had been great we could have overlooked all the other stuff, but it was average rap. No mixes, no get up and dance vibe, just lame rap.
To be fair, the martinis were excellent and the bartenders were quick and nice... Skip it, it really is as bad as the other

Went there after dinner with some friends and thought the place was terrible! It was very crowded and it's tiny, so not a good combination. The people were disappointing and so was the music... all in all, not recommendable.
