Charlotte Street reviews
I have to concur with most of these comments, especially 'walk with your feet'. What planet are these hotels on? Service charge, what service? It's horrendous and the manager - if one can call him that - needs a kick up the jacksie. Knock this one off your list unless you enoy being ripped off. Never again for me.

Last time I went here, I swore it would be my last. I ordered my drinks at the bar and was still asked to pay service charge. For what - glass hire? I know this is happening more and more in London bars but it's an outrageous practice and I'm standing up to it. So my feet (and wallet) will show my disgust and I won't go back.

I went for breakfast with two others this morning and I have to admit that we were disappointed. The hotel itself and the Charlotte St location are superlative, but the service and food were somewhat shabby. An £80 bill (with tip automatically added on) is also somewhat hard to swallow when you've been served warm drinks (and had to ask three times for ice), food has arrived disjointedly, and service has been offhand at best and bordering on the disdainful at worst.

I've not stayed here, but I've eaten in the restaurant and enjoyed their cocktails many times over the last few years. It can get rather busy on Friday nights, but the bar staff are friendly and table service is fairly attentive. I've always had good meals here and most importantly, the cocktails are excellent.
I wouldn't consider it to be a destination restaurant as such, but the whole place is beautifully designed and if I were visiting London and wanted to stay in this area I'd highly recommend it.
