Mandeville Hotel reviews
Loved the Mandeville Hotel! We stayed there for a romantic weekend in a deluxe room. We had a fantastic meal in the deVille restaurant and the bar was amazing. I would give anything to go back for another chocolate martini!
by urbantraveller, 06 Feb 2008I stayed here with my partner for a luxurious weekend in London and we were delighted! The hotel is very hip but not uncomfortably so. The staff were so helpful, particularly the concierge and guest relations staff. My girlfriend spoke to the sales office to enquire about a corporate rate for her company and thought they were incredibly helpful and informative. Food was sensational and the cocktails were amazing. We can't wait to go back!
by frequentflyer, 28 Dec 2007Stayed there on Friday night. We were allocated a room on the first floor right above reception - amazingly noisy (no double glazing it would seem, and the window didn't close completely). The reception staff have a very poor standard of English and are very slow. The room had been set up for 1 person (1 dressing gown, 1 bottle of shower gel, etc.) although there were 2 of us. The room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable, but we couldn't sleep because of the noise. The TV screen is ridiculously small, and so is the bathroom. The bath is tiny and uncomfortable, and the finishes are very poor - installed by cowboys! From 8 in the morning, our phone started ringing once every 10 minutes. Reception was unable to do anything about it so we left, feeling grumpy and ripped off. Will not go back!

by Anonymous, 17 Jan 2007We had a good deal via Expedia, on the ever-worrying basis of 'room allocated on arrival'. Room was fairly small, but well laid out and clean. (Strangely the only mirror was in the bathroom.) The decor is rather confused, as the room styling was a mix of urban chic, art deco and 'fin de siecle' glam.
All was well until we were asked to sign for our 2nd (inclusive) very average breakfast. This was eventually resolved, but clearly not to the hotel's satisfaction. Although this is a well located, clean and tidy hotel (with an excellent concierge), I'm not sure we'd go back. The De Ville restaurant, however, was superb and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Hotel was very stylish and we booked a junior suite, which was perfect for our needs. The bathroom (by which I judge hotels!) was immaculate, with powerful showers and a decent size, Penhaligon toiletries included. They also supplied slippers and dressing gowns, which was a luxurious touch. My only comment would be lack of coffee/tea making facilities, which was a shame.
Staff were friendly and the bar was great, a nice atmosphere and a nice place to start and end the evening. The location was perfect as well, for Marylebone and West End both walking distance. Great place for a weekend or just one night. Would recommend to my friends.
A real find. Read about this place in Wallpaper* and decided to stay for the weekend. We were upgraded to a deluxe double on arrival and the room was great. Didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar was very stylish and the barman mixed some great cocktails. Location was perfect for shopping too. Would definitely return.
