Have stayed a few times and find it a really great hotel. Love the style (Starck furniture is brillant), the staff have always been lovely, the place is clean and well maintained. Being a central hotel I thought it would be noisy, but not at all. Spa great, bar/restaurant was great too and the breakfast fantastic after a very heavy Saturday night out!
by Daniel Burr (3 reviews), 24 Mar 2008Not a nice place - a very bad experience there on New Year. No customer service to speak of. A manager called Kevin simply handed his card over, saying: "Contact me here", before walking away when a complaint was being made to him. Breathtaking. It may look stylish but true class comes from the way in which you treat your customers. Many, many hotels in London do this far better and are lovelier all round. Not recommended.
by Davinia03, 01 Jan 2008Absolutely amazing. Passing almost 100 nights a year in hotels, I can say that Sanderson is an experience that must be done once in your life! Cocktail "Sanderson Martini" is one of the best I ever had!
All the stuff really rocks!

Extremely poor service because they haven't got the staff. It's cheap and tacky in style yet charges outrageous prices. You're basically getting Travelodge for Savoy money.
This is a place where people go to flash their wealth - the idea being if you're happy to pay so much for something so ordinary you must be stupidly rich. I strongly urge you to avoid this tacky bar.
The Sanderson bar is a very good venue with some outstanding features. Customer service is very efficient and clientele are ok. It's very clean and the atmosphere's good. Given the price of drinks, The Sanderson's Long Bar offers satisfactory value for money in a welcoming and classy environment. I recommend a visit.

by BD, 23 Sep 2005I love this hotel - it's one of my favourites in London. It's vibrant, fun and offers total luxury. All the furnishing in this hotel is of contemporary splendour and the rooms are just heavenly. Step into the lifts and you are transported to a cosmic world. You need to see it to know what I mean. The lifts are a feature to themselves. They have this amazing room that features a fantastic purple pool table (larger than the average size) and breathtaking furniture with deer antlers and horns and very ornate standing lamps. I love this room!!
The Purple bar is a must - normally for hotel guests and VIP but I was told you could get in only if you went there before 7pm however if you can't it's not a problem because the Long Bar is fantastic - great for people watching. Staff are very friendly and the cocktails are wicked! This hotel has also offers amazing spa treatments and great restaurant.
If you're going to visit this place make sure you take all your credit cards. Pricey!
Seems to me that Londoner's have got used to this hotel, but it's still rather impressive if you've not stayed in a Schrager hotel before.
The rooms are airy and very white and they feature all the facilities you'd expect - good tv and music systems, range of dvds for hire, comfortable beds and staff who tolerate 4am room service requests for another bottle of champagne!
The best bits though are the Purple Bar (residents and VIPs only) and the outdoor courtyard area. I stayed here on a recent one night return to London with clients and it doesn't get much better than relaxing in the tropical garden courtyard with friendly, attractive staff offering great wines, snacks and cocktails.
There's also a spa which offers Eve Lom treatments, and the Long bar is a hotbed of eye contact and schmoozing.
When this hotel opened it completely changed my expectations of stylish hotels. The exterior is rather plain (although I believe it's listed), but the lobby with it's huge plasma screen built into the reception desk and Dali Kiss sofa was just stunning.
Several years later it's obviously not quite as excitingly new and Schrager hotels (and the whole concept of designer boutique hotels) seem to have colonised every major city. But it's still a great hotel, the rooms are elegant and comfortable, and the Purple Bar is still my favourite intimate bar in the city. They've also covered the courtyard, so it's much more useful given London weather!
