Mortimer & Bennett reviews
I have to agree with the first 2 reviews about the service, although the products are mainly very good. The owner Mr M can be off-hand and rude if you are not one of his posh customers, who are fawned over. I must have spent many hundreds of pounds in M&B over the years but today vowed never to set foot in there again because this man was so rude and surly to me. In every other shop I went to in Chiswick today the staff were polite and friendly. It is a shame, because the other staff at M&B are mainly very nice.

Awful delivery service and communication.
A few days after the expected arrival date, I got an email saying some items would only be in stock "a couple of weeks later" and they would send the rest "tomorrow" (postage showed they sent them the next week).
Only after more than 2 months and many phone calls later, I finally got my "couple of weeks later" delayed items.

Terrible customer service. I spent £15 on a Panettone which, when I opened it, had gone soggy. Contacted the shop and I got a rude and extremely unhelpful response. They clearly only care about taking your money and not about the service if you have any problems!

Excellent deli with fine cheeses from Neal's Yard, bread from Clarke's and quite a good range of other produce (e.g. Jabugo ham is now available).

Mortimer & Bennett is a mandatory stop any time I shop in Chiswick. Great stuff and friendly staff!

M&B is the best for finding those little niche yummy food products and the team really know their stuff.

Great range of cheeses, and some really unusual things you don't normally see in other delis around London. One of London's little finds. Knowledgeable and helpful staff, and it's on a great street for other food shopping, too.

Have we missed a great delicatessen in London? Let us know.
