Sosho reviews

Rude bouncers, rude bar staff and a rude manager. Never, ever experienced anything like it.

The area we had reserved for 15 people was barely big enough for 4, the food we ordered came out wrong and not what we ordered (which, in fairness, was corrected... eventually) and then was very average at best. My girlfriend, who had reserved the area for birthday drinks, was not let back in after a cigarette as she was too drunk. Granted, she probably was, it was her birthday, but why not refuse to serve her drinks instead of keeping her away from her friends without her coat and belongings??!! She wasn't causing any trouble.

Strange way to run a business. We (and our 20 guests) will certainly not be back.

Really fantastic Friday night at Sosho. Definitely the place to go if you want to dance the night away!

Love this place! Great venue, excellent and friendly bar staff... Just sort out your ladies' loo (it's really disgusting).

Having read others' reviews, I am guessing something has changed in the place as the old reviews are all rubbishy, but I found the place like the more recent reviews: good.

Excellent service, great atmosphere, excellent cocktails and with staff knowledgeable enough to give a cocktail opinion - a definite rarity!

Absolutely loved the place. The management has to have changed recently, because the service was absolutely great! Had really delicious cocktails without the West End price tag and even met a few hotties. Will be back next week!

Being new to Shoreditch, I am trying out all the local bars and I stumbled across this one... Granted, it is hard to find! The 2 sets of double doors are now both wide open and there's lots of seating. It had a cool, funky lounge-bar feel.

Not knowing what cocktail's what, I was able to discuss with the barman my likes and they fixed me up a treat. The girls and I will definitely be back. They said the club nights were just on the Sunday, so after work drinks here I come!

Rotten service. I can't imagine how this sort of place survives these days... what a disgrace.

Went there thinking I was in for a nice surprise... Instead, I was in for the worst service I've ever encountered in my life.

The 'dead' Sunday night called for a £12 cover charge, and on top of that I was searched so intensively (down to my lip balm), I almost believed I was the local dealer. To be honest, it killed the mood for the rest of the night.

The music was alright but nothing special.

If you do decide to go, make sure to prepare yourself for the unwarranted queue as well as the hardcore door staff.

The rudest bar staff, management and bouncers I have ever met! Save yourself the trouble, go someplace that's actually nice.

We booked an area for a farewell event. They stuck us under the stairs, didn't warn us about the £15 cover charge that night for the "special DJ" who played the most god-awful set I've ever heard and, to top it all off, the bathrooms had no running water for half of the night. This place should be bulldozed.

Door staff extremely rude. Kept people queuing for 30 minutes before letting them OUT to have a cigarette. Friend had a panic attack and the bouncer pushed her over as she was trying to leave. Cannot get a drink or move once inside, no room in cloakroom either. Terrible place.

Awful place and really bad service. Someone should train staff (especially the manager!) on customer service - sentences like "The manager doesn't like to be disturbed by customers" should never be heard in the hospitality business. Laura, you should check your manual. Too bad, I used to be a regular since I live nearby. Plenty of places to go to, stay away!

Fantastic music... on Sundays! Nice drinks and bartenders too.

It's terrible. Over-priced cocktails, uncomfortable seats, can't hear yourself think let alone speak to the people you're with, awful beer/wine, staff are slow, you have to squeeze past so many egos to get to the bar, bad layout, aircon is inefficient. What is this dive doing right?

This bar has good music - the mixes are quite original. But the greatest thing is there are no chavs there! Finally, a quality bar with quality people. The decor is OK, the bar usually busy but you'll always get served. Above average.

Good atmosphere and quality drinks. I'd recommend it for a party night though, not a quiet drink. Another plus is that it's open late, so no movement required for us lazy bunch!

Thought this bar was everything you'd expect, funky surroundings, nice staff, good drinks, spacious and clean.

I don't feel as comfortable here as I do in their sister bar, Match in the West End. Same good cocktails are served though.
