Faulkner's reviews
I was in Faulkner's restaurant last night after 3 years, and it reminded me of the past. A great seafood restaurant with friendly staff. It was very busy for a Monday night but was controlled well. I had a prawn cocktail for a starter and then cod and chips with mushy peas. It was excellent. There's no other fish shop like this. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I always go there with my family. It is the best fish and chips in London. I recommend the scampi as a starter and haddock with mushy peas as a main. And if you still have room for dessert, then have sticky toffee pudding - it's to die for! Overall great service, would definitely recommend.

I have been to Faulkner's several times since the new ownership. I had hoped that standards would be maintained, but they have recently slipped badly.
I had skate - very small, very dry. I am sure it was re-fried, either from lunch time or possibly the day before. Terrible.
The result: NEVER AGAIN!

Very tasty cod, beautifully cooked, good chips and the best mushy peas I've had in a long time. But at £7.10 a little pricey for a takeaway.

There are no good fish and chip shops in London and this is a prime example of why. Fish cooked with the skin on. Why? A trail of black slime on my fish. All in all, the worst fish and chips I've ever eaten. Oh, and it's stupidly expensive - over £7 for takeaway fish and chips?? Come on!

Simply the best chippie in East London. For a great value take-home supper try the homemade fish cakes and chips (though the cod and haddock is also very good!).

Well, I take all my clients here (from the City) and have had nothing but praise for it. One client even called me from Turkey to ask for the address (hence the visit to this site). The cod and the halibut have always been fresh and exceptionally good.

Prawn cocktail was soggy affair, with a "forgotten in the cold-store" taste that even a downpour of tabasco couldn't mask. Sole was fishy and full of roe, I got a battered haddock that whilst slightly underdone was an improvement. Unfortunately the waiter insisted the sole was fresh depite a grey sheen on it and I was charged for both dishes. At £60 for two for a poor meal with poor service this has to rank amongst my worst dining experiences on the planet. Had to have a shower to feel clean again after this meal. Go to Fish Central or The Fish Shop Islington. Go anywhere but don't come here.
