Rock & Sole Plaice reviews
Went here last weekend and personally think this place is fantastic! Fish is always moist and succulent and their chips are just great. Not many good fish and chippies in London but this is one of them!

I went here after reading the great reviews and was very very disappointed. The portion of fish was small and stale, they skimped on the chips and I got charged over £10 for the meal as I decided to dine in. One of the worst I've had and I left hungry. You will find much better quality and quantity in any local chippie. Some of the best are out of London unfortunately.

We went to Rock & Sole last weekend as we had been in search of a decent fish 'n' chip for over a year now after moving down from Aberdeen, Scotland (heart of good fresh fish + chunky chips!). Well, the Rock & Sole did not disappoint. A large moist and fresh haddock with homemade tartare and chunky - not greasy - chips satisfied even the biggest appetites! Lovely. I would reccommend.

Stale fish poorly cooked, served with soggy chips, by possibly one of the least hygenic fryers in the country. Avoid at all costs, as there are a multitude of better places than this one.

Very poor tomato ketchup (such a shame, as the chips are great!). Fish was dry and small. Mushy peas dreadful... Faulkner's on Kingsland Road is much better.

My cod and chips weren't as fresh and fantastic as I'd been expecting, having read the reviews about this place. Maybe I went at the wrong time...

The best fish and chips in town. Good service, and wine only £8.00 per bottle - a bargain.

The best chips in the best location for post-shopping spree or post- (or pre-) theatre! The chips are scrummy.

They know how to select great fish, which is where it all starts from. The batter is perfect - they cook using the best quality oil and do not overuse it. All told, the fish and chips are the best I've tasted in London. Service is friendly, and the decor is nice too.

The batter on my haddock was hard, as if it had been hanging around, and the fish did not seem to be the freshest.
