Marylebone Farmers' Market reviews
A heavenly place, wonderful for sampling and buying good home produce from many sources. During 2007 I frequented it many times and would like to pay tribute to the following star stalls:
Blakeney Point - for selling 'luxurious' fish like sole and wild sea bass at reasonable prices. Their Cromer crab and juicy plump cockles taste as good as if you were standing on the Norfolk beach they come from! Great kippers too.
In Praise of The Potato - Morghew's stall is a delight. Kerrs Pink are the best roasters I've tasted. There's always a diverse range to choose from.
Layer Marney's excellent meat and game stall deserves a mention. Their shoulder of lamb is very good and, of the game, their pheasant and mallard duck were excellent.
The Exeter Bread Company - a good selection of specialist breads (but I buy the Pugliese every time).
Homemade cake stall to die for and, just before Christmas, a marvellous Mushroom Man!
The vegetable and flower stall that runs along the inside perimeter of the car park sells great seasonal veg and flowers at a good price - excellent fennel and cavalo nero last week.
I could go on, but go see for yourself...

A heavenly place, despite its location in the car park behind Waitrose. Open every Sunday - get there early to avoid the crowds so that you can browse. There's a great selection of fresh produce, and you'll walk away with some amazing things. Marylebone High Street is a real foodie venue now, and the farmers' market is definitely not to be missed!

This market deserves to be better known. Good selection of great foods but not enough hot food to eat in the market. An undiscovered gem is the Absolute Chilli Co. This guy makes the most mouth watering and delicious chilli sauces and salsas I have ever eaten! Brilliant!

The food was great, but the flowers are what made it for me. One of the stalls specialises in old English roses and they smell absolutely divine. My bunch of roses lasted well over a week and the colours continued to change and mature as if they were still on the bush. Fantastic!
