Pimlico Farmers' Market reviews
Isn't the point of farmers' markets to sell and support locally produced, independent and sustainable produce? After talking to some of the 10 or so stallholders drinking Starbucks tea and coffee (when there are several independent cafes a matter of yards away, one of which is organic), I was surprised to be told they did so because it was 'cheaper' or they 'got a discount' - especially from the woman who had just sold me the most expensive vine tomatoes I had ever seen. They were delicious but by her logic shouldn't I be shopping at Tesco? The hypocrisy does not sit easy with me. A shame, because I love(d) the market.

Outstanding, even though the gifted Paddock View butcher quit farming and the Market some months back. The range and quality of produce on offer is great, although there is always the odd bad apple. The best meat, fruit and veg you can get in London. Even if the (embarrassingly low) prices were put up, I'd still go, just to be able to talk to the woman or man who bred the pig that became my sausages.
