Three Michelin Star fine dining from one of the world's top chefs, complemented with fine wines and spectacular décor. The menu offers contemporary French cuisine with dishes such as Heart of Black Angus rump steak studded with bacon, 'boulangére' potatoes, and chocolate-coffee pleasure. There is a set menu available over lunch as well as the 'Table Lumière' - a private dining area surrounded by a luminescent curtain where six people can select dishes from a surprise menu.

Michelin Star Restaurants in London

Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester reviews

The service and presentation were perfect, but the food was disappointing. We had the tasting menu. It was good, but bland. There was little flavour and boring texture. The wine pairings were also bland. I expected more from a three Michelin star restaurant, especially for spending £500 for two people.

If you want to try for yourself, make sure you are not facing the 'Hyde Park tree canopy wall'. It will make you dizzy if you are too close as the green balls feel like they are moving.

My wife and I went here recently and I must say that we actually expected more from a 3-star Michelin restaurant. We got our table in time but it took almost 10 minutes before anyone showed up to take our order. We did not feel we were expected.

I got a call two days prior to our visit and was asked if we had any special wishes or were celebrating anything. I said we weren't but requested that they please take note that my wife is allergic to hazelnuts. It felt realy special to be called two days in advance and asked about these matters, but sadly no record was made of it because, in fact, no one knew that my wife had this allergy. We had the tasting menu.

We must say that the lobby was not to their advantage. It was full of younger Arabs that had their daughters sleeping on the sofas and were dining in the lobby in very casual dress. It didn't give us the feeling that this was a special place. In our opinion, it was definitely not worth the money at all. Instead, we would recommend Helene Darroze at the Connaught, not because of the surroundings but for the tasting menu (although the surroundings are also nicer).

We had the tasting menu. It was an amazing meal. In my opinion, deserving of the 3 Michelin stars.

Alain Ducasse now has 3 Michelin Stars, and it shows. We had an amazing dinner last night: service/food/ambiance was AMAZING! Made us feel special from start to end of our 3hr dinner.
Definitely worth spending the money!
