Club Gascon reviews
OK, where to start? Lovely place, great food and staff... but (and a very big BUT) an extremely confusing menu. Wasn't sure if I was ordering a degustation or à la carte - the prices were like à la carte but the portions were like a degustation. Wine list restricted to Gascon varieties (asked for an Alsace and it was liked I asked the sommelier to give me a blow job). Extremely expensive for what it is. Much better places to try in London before this. My wife and I went there for a meal and it cost over £220 - definitely not worth it!
by johnny15676, 15 Jun 2007The food was fine, but I endured some of the most appalling service I have ever experienced.

by humbug, 08 Oct 2005A far better feel to the place in the evening, I think, but wonderful food on really unusual plates at any time of day. And a really terrific wine list. Our service was great, never imposing, very knowledgeable about the food and hilariously unable to pronounce "wholemeal" when offering us the bread.
Every course I had was just splendid and beautifully presented. I still can't work out how they cooked my salmon.
Highly recommended.
