Les Trois Garcons reviews
Amazing decor and the food is highly commendable. Maybe too rich for everyday but certainly great for special occasions. Service friendly and professional. Will be going back soon.
by Allan Haige (2 reviews), 21 Jan 2008Great place to look at but completely overpriced. Food was fine but nothing special. Service wasn't great either.
by Anonymous, 11 Apr 2007I brought my husband for his birthday surprise - he was VERY surprised. Definitely a bit pricey, but perfect for a special occasion as food/wine/ambiance is worth every penny.
by Anonymous, 30 Jan 2007I've been to many restaurants around the world, but this is the BEST food I have ever tried. The portions were surprisingly generous. Everything was made to perfection. Looking forward to going back again soon.
by Anonymous, 12 Jan 2007I was at L3G on my birthday and must say it was a great experience, both service and food.
by Anonymous, 14 Nov 2006I absolutely love L3G. It is by far one of my favourite restaurants, I was taken here on a date recently, and it didn't fail to impress.
The food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic, and in all it was a truly magical evening. Definitely go to LL for drinks first, although be warned they do mix them rather strong.
Love, love, love this place. Food, service, atmosphere is all fantastic. Went to L3G on a date recently and although I have no idea how much it cost, I'm sure it was worth every penny. If you haven't been .
by Anonymous, 08 Jun 2006Amazing experience. I do not know why some think it's expensive. I think it's worth every penny, as I am unable to fault the food, service and ambience. I eat out all the time and I find it hard to find another to match Les Trois Garcons.
by lizz, 21 Apr 2006A fantastic restaurant - absolutely magical! Everything about this place was wonderful, the atmosphere, the food, the wine, the service, the music - I think the best restaurant I have ever been too!
by daisycat, 05 Apr 2006Food was great, atmosphere enchanting, staff polite and attentive. Really enjoyed our meal here, though it is rather expensive, but great for a special occasion or to impress a date. A lovely treasure of a restaurant.
by jess74 (2 reviews), 24 Mar 2006Been to L3G many times and every time I go back it's magical. It's difficult to explain... you just feel happy to be there. The ambiance, the staff and the food are unlike anywhere else in London. The food especially has come a long way. I think Londoners should be proud to have such an establishment, instead of trying to pick it apart because they don't understand it. I suppose not everyone can be daring and adventurous, otherwise we'd all be having too much fun!!
by jake (3 reviews), 27 Jan 2006The decor and atmosphere was great. However it is relatively pricey and although the presentation was faultless, I had the foie gras liver which although gorgeous wasn't the absolute best quality for example in comparison to Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's, though two thirds of the price.
However, I would return and recommend to friends as an experience, hence the top rating.
Ambiance is fabulous, food was good. Only negative was the rather pushy waiters who kept trying to make us order when we weren't ready.
by manic, 01 Dec 2005The decor is certainly outstanding - I've never dined any where like it in my life. However, the food was somewhat hit and miss when we visited - some dishes perfectly ok, others very average.
I'd certainly recommend visiting Les Trois Garcons but you can get much better food for the same (relatively high) price elsewhere in London.
At last the food is as good and imaginative as the decor. The oyster beignets are one of the most heavenly dishes I've ever eaten. And the room is certainly unforgettable. If you want a corporate dinning experience like the Great Eastern Dining Room or the tradition of J Sheekey, this is not the place. But if you like a grand adventure, Les Trois Garcons is the place.
by Enid A. Lame (2 reviews), 08 Jul 2005Fabulous place, fantastic food. Very expensive I believe but for a special occasion / person you cannot go wrong there. And make sure you grab a cocktail at the equally fabulous Loungelover at the back afterwards.
by Anonymous, 19 May 2005Truly awful food... I wanted so much to like it, especially given the decor and the fact I live nearby.
But we've tried it twice and both times the food was truly awful - almost inedible on one occasion and very indifferent on the other. Give it a miss and head to Great Eastern Dining Room if you are in the area, or J Sheekey if you are in town.
We went for my birthday with friends. The staff were friendly and professional. Food was perfect and afterwards the staff reserved us a table in their bar next door which was just as good in every respect. I'll definitely be going again for special occasions.
by Anonymous, 22 Mar 2005Wonderful food and it's the most outrageously designed restaurant in London. The impact of the decor has worn off slightly, but I still eat here when friends from out of town are staying as it's not the kind of thing you tend to encounter in the provinces. Service is friendly and efficient too.
by wabbit (14 reviews), 08 Nov 2004The design of this restaurant is as eclectic as Loungelover, the bar around the corner owned by the same guys. I was so impressed with the decor that I was ready and expecting to have to forgive the standard of food, but I was wrong - it's was a fantastic meal with impeccable service.
Whitechapel is slightly out of the way for me, but I'll definitely make the effort to eat here again all the same.
Have we missed a great restaurant in London? Let us know.
