Morgan M reviews

Very good menu, offering very good quality for the price. Ask the waiter for the wine list and enjoy. If you are in a rush like a previous reviewer, there are plenty of McDonalds in the area. But if you want to enjoy food, this is the place... and don't leave without a nice armagnac!

We have only ever had good experiences of Morgan M and think the menus are excellent value for money. The restaurant doesn't yet have a Michelin star but we think this is long overdue.

First of all, the restaurant staff here force you to buy 3 courses - thus the fresh birthday tart that I'd bought for my partner for dessert had to go to waste. "You can just order a main and a starter, but we'll still charge you for three courses", the waiter told us. Plus, as the ethical choices are slim to none on the menu (which is also very brief), the starters that we did choose which seemed the most ethical (in terms of how the animal was killed) had massive supplement charges on them. Even though one of us had tap water and the other a coke, with no alcohol, the bill came to approx £110!

Furthermore, the dessert that I had, a chocolate pudding, was not of the standard that one would expect in such a restaurant (which has a Michelin star, as it would happen). It was dry on the outside and while it had the goo in the inside, this did not work, as it was not even that warm. It seemed like they just took a generic hot chocolate pudding out of a box and put some pretty garnish around it to pass it off as gourmet.

The service was very poor and we didn't get served our main meal until 1 1/2 hours later! In fact, we didn't leave the restaurant until 2 1/2 hours later and that was without lingering over coffee. Unacceptable! In addition, when I asked one of the servers about an intermediate course, she gave me a snooty response that completely evaded my question. Also, the tables are too close together as well. Finally, this restaurant does not even take AmEx despite the high prices. Very inconvenient.

But if you are not starving, have the time to wait, the money to splash out, and don't mind the snooty vibes, you will no doubt have a better experience than me.

After sending two emails about the bad service we received during our dining there, with the request to reply, nobody did. A place were I would not go a second time. Bad value for money.

Delicious and inspired food. The service is impeccable. One of the best restaurants in London, for sure.

By no means cheap - the wine list could induce a coronary - but the whole dining experience is top-notch. Portions seem on the small size to the eye at first, but we left there with no room for anything else. Highly recommended!
