Asia de Cuba reviews
I loved the atmosphere at Asia de Cuba... The food was delightful and the service was attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

Asia de Cuba is a very nice restaurant on St Martin's Lane (it is quite hard to find, but is in a really nice hotel).
To start I had tuna with some kind of crisp thing, my mum and dad had a bento box. For main I had pork and for pudding Mexican doughnuts with butterscotch sauce.
Would definitely go back.

Service was wonderful - quick, attentive and helpful. The food was great, especially the desserts (even if we didn't have much room left), but the mojitos were better.
Still, it is undoubtedly expensive, and if you wouldn't usually drop that kind of money on dinner (ours worked out at at almost £100 a head) then there are probably better places you could go.

Great food! Very big portions though, so it's best to share and take the advice the waiters give you. But overall an excellent atmosphere and a lovely menu! Will definitely go back.

Food is very high standard - anyone who says it is tasteless must have no tastebuds or have been on a day when the chef was off sick. However, it takes forever (and I mean a LONG time) for the waiters to come and take an order and clear plates away... and then they ask about a hundred times if you want a coffee afterwards.
The main courses are not huge - three between two with no starter, or a starter and a main if you are not terribly hungry, is ideal. I think it is overpriced compared to other places of a similar standard, and a little noisy. However, the decor is interesting and it is an enjoyable experience. I would give it 8 out of 10.

I've been to Asia de Cuba twice. Although the mood lighting and ambiance add to the fun of dressing up and going out with friends for the night, the bar next to the restaurant in the hotel is better than the actual quality of the food you get in Asia de Cuba. Fusion is good when it tastes good, but highly overpriced for something I can come up with in my own kitchen at home with better ingredients and taste! Won't be trying it again, even if the ambiance is nice!

The hotel itself really has impact from the minute you walk in, like any other Schrager chain. The restaurant is nice, with the usual Schrager charm. Serivce was efficient and charming. The food, however, was quite bad. The calamari salad was probably the nicest dish out of all five dishes we ordered. The duck salad was just weird in taste (doesn't compare to the duck salad in
Hakkasan). Overall the atmosphere is great but the food pretty bad, especially with the unjustifiable price tag. Not coming back here.

I've been to 6 or 7 of London's top restaurants lately and can guarantee that, for 2 people, with wine, you will part company with £150. Your local take-away and off-licence will provide similar for about £30. Go figure.

I went on a Saturday night and the service was very slow. However, they coped with some truly outrageous behaviour from some of my (more embarrassing) friends, probably because so much was spent on alcohol...

'Serving staff' that thought they were better than the guests. The
Light Bar service was slow (we were booted out of our table even though we had to wait for 15 minutes for our second order). Note to the management at St Martin's: send all your staff on a customer service course that teaches them not to look down their noses at the guests. Manners don't cost a thing.

This place is fab. Go and try it. The food is great, the atmosphere is buzzing, and the staff are very polite and helpful.

Despite all the hype, I really enjoyed the food here. Service was good if not great, and the atmosphere was fun. Definitely beats the socks off
Hakkasan.

Beautiful bento, well mixed Japanese and Thai with hint of Cuba.
Chocolate gateaux - don't mind messing up my lips.

Fantastic food, great cocktails and excellent service. Have been several times and would recommend it to anyone!

Cocktails in the
Light Bar were amazing - then again for the price they charge they should be. Food was distinctly average - some amazing dishes with some totally ordinary dishes and again the price was through the roof. Have had better.

I generally enjoy Schrager hotel restaurants, but this one wasn't my favourite. As you'd expect it looks pretty amazing but the shared plate concept and the actual dishes didn't do it for me. The hotel is great, as is the Light bar, but I'd recommend Spoon+ at the
Sanderson if you want to eat at one of their restaurants in London.
