Please do not bother! This has to be the worst eating out experience I've ever had. At least an hour and a half's wait for starters. My husband's didn't actually come at all (they'd run out). Cold food. Another massive wait for cold mains. Avoid this like the plague!

We went there Saturday January 24th and we all found it strange that this place is called a 'gastropub'. I've eaten in a number of
pubs in London and elsewhere in the UK, and most other places I've been to are far better than this place. The Welsh rarebit we had was burnt and had to be returned, the calf's liver was so-so, the beef was tasteless, and the service was very bad.
I will not go there again, as there are a huge number of
pubs (gastro and non-gastro) which are far better than this one, both in terms of food quality and level of service.

Love this place and the staff. Although I do not visit the area too much, when I do go in I am always treated like a local. The £12.50 twilight dinner offer is really good - can't believe I can get a huge cote de boeuf for this price. I will be back.

We held a birthday lunch here for my husband with 15 friends. One of the waitresses was lovely, accommodating - extending our table when more guests than we expected arrived and a 'nothing's too much trouble' attitude. However this was unfortunately somewhat overshadowed by her rather rude colleague. Apart from standing at the top of the table and screeching "Guys, you all need to sit down NOW!" (I asked her not to shout at my guests, which she did apologise for), the service that followed was unbelievable - I kept thinking a camera crew was going to jump out somewhere! She told my friend who arrived late and ordered a drink to just drink the wine on the table, she took orders flicking her hair and turning on her heel as though we were asking her to do something horrendous! (Speaking of which, the toilets were filthy - I don't think they'd been cleaned from the night before.)
The food? Well, average I'm afraid. And although mine was warm, 3 or 4 guests said their's was cool and overly salty.
Lastly - and I'm sure this is illegal - the said waitress had a child with her and she was allowing/teaching him how to take orders and also allowed him to take wine to tables. Very strange and inappropriate.
Really disappointed. The reference to
Soho House is quite misleading - there is no comparison whatsoever and I'm not sure they'd be happy to have their name on this place's website.
I never usually write on these things and if it wasn't a birthday party I probably wouldn't.
I've learnt my lesson and will be trying the place out first next time.

Having eaten there twice and enjoyed the food despite indifferent service, my wife booked it for a birthday celebration for 10 people, coming from far and wide on condition we could have a particular table in the restaurant. A week ahead of booking we were informed by email that a wedding was taking over the restaurant but we could eat in the pub. Unbelievable contempt - we will not be going there ever again!

Went in for Sunday lunch with a group of friends and had a great time. Food was great and service was friendly and warm. Would definitely be back. Thanks Badgers.

Totally overrated. Smelled of stale beer and body odour. Couldn't serve a decent G&T either.

The food and service here is great, but the wine list and range of British ales could be better.

Overpriced, luke-warm food and service. The food may have been produced locally with a local carbon food print but no effort was made to cook the all-day breakfast I had. Adding insult to injury, the seating conditions are hardly conducive for drinking let alone eating. There are many other better places in the area.

Fat local with great food and service. The decor is also a treat.

When I eventually found it, a bit further up Portobello Road than I was expecting, it was a lovely meeting place for a catch up and wind down on a Sunday evening. Good lighting, nice wine and quirky decor. All three of us enjoyed our food and if it wasn't so far away I'd be there every weekend!

My favourite pub.

This is now my watering hole of choice in London. Excellent food, great value and a really warm and friendly atmosphere - all fairly rare in Notting Hill.

Have we missed a great gastro pub in London?
Let us know.
