Grand Union reviews
I love this pub, it's my local and I think it just gets better every time I visit. I last visited on Monday this week and think the food is better now than ever before. I ordered butternut squash risotto and my friend had one of the homemade pies. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Staff are always friendly. The pub has recently been refurbished too, and is equally good on summer evenings next to the canal or inside for a cosy drink. 10/10!
by daisyduke, 19 Sep 2007Wow, what a change from my last visit... The food is still excellent (I tried the crocodile!), the service was friendly and attentive, and the place has a much better atmosphere than last time I went. Can't wait till the summer - this will be my regular hangout!

by Anonymous, 17 May 2006They do the most amazing pies with skinny fries or mash. The service is a little slow and the pies take a while to arrive. But the pies are delicious!
by Pielover, 05 Apr 2006The food here used to be quite good, but not any more. Sort it out Grand Union!
by Anonymous, 25 Oct 2005One of my favourite pubs in the area. Love the atmosphere and the music. Pies are excellent, but I do think it a fair criticism that there is often a long wait to get your food.
by Gunno, 17 Aug 2005Yesterday (3/7/05) my partner and I had possibly the worst roast dinner in London ever! First of all it came out cold, then the waitress spilt gravy down my partner's trousers and then we watched as another customer was served half cooked chicken!
The chef and kitchen currently residing need a rocket up their arse and show no pride in good food which was evident it our experience.... we will now recommend to everyone that it is a nice pub for a drink but the food is terrible...
Hope you take on these comments as you will lose valuable trade!
Eaten there a couple of times in the last couple of months and really enjoyed the pies. Friendly, young atmosphere and pleasant sitting outside by the canal.
by Anonymous, 31 Mar 2005Went there for a lunch in the sun and had the worst time ever. The food arrived on the table about 40 minutes after we ordered, with no apology of any sort, which is quite shocking. But looking at our plates we just felt even worse as prices are way over the top for the food they serve. Small portions looking like they've been put together quickly... nothing justified the price we paid for the food. We'll never go back!
by Anonymous, 18 Mar 2005Great for lazy Sunday afternoons with friends when they do a BBQ and jugs of Pimms. Can get pretty busy so not the place for a quiet meal on a Friday night.
