Matthew Norman's review of The Brackenbury (The Telegraph)
The Brackenbury reviews
It's 100% a restaurant, not a gastropub. No pubbing involved whatsoever. Set lunch is usually a blinder.

The restaurant looks very nice from the outside and is cosy inside. What is letting this place down is the poor service (if you are not buying one of their expensive bottles of wine). We had to ask for absolutely everything. Also, if you decide to go, make sure they don’t seat you in front of the door - everyone coming and going, the door doesn’t close back automatically (the worst was when one of the waiters went for a cigarette outside and didn't close the door - I had to stand up and close it myself). The food was good but very basic considering the prices they charge and the elaborate descriptions in the menu.

Absolutely fabulous! Food was 'WOW', service was very good... an all-round great experience.

It's a restaurant not a gastropub. Nice, small, sweet modern european that wavers between better than fine to very good.
