Painstakingly restored after a fire, this 18th century riverside pub at the heart of the Docklands is now a smart gastropub. Steeped in history, The Gun was originally a firm favourite with Lord Horatio Nelson who would meet his lover in an upstairs room and popular with smugglers who would distribute illegal imports via a hidden tunnel. Today, The Gun is an elegant establishment with a riverside terrace and a menu boasting native seafood dishes with fish bought daily from Billingsgate Market.

The Gun reviews
Very nice pub with nice staff and good food.

This is a very good pub. The Gun is situated in an enviable position, in the east end of London, overlooking the Thames and the 02 Arena. From the 'living room' or the excellent riverside terrace, you can enjoy wonderful river views, capturing as it does the key parts of east and south London. Toilets are sound.
The Gun provides satisfactory value for money. Drinks and food are above the local and national average, but the very good setting and very good clientele means users enjoy a worthwhile experience.

Lovely view of the river but pretentious bar staff and food is good but way overpriced. It's only a pub after all!

Great place! Went there last Sunday for lunch - excellent roast and delicious Bloody Marys. Service was immaculate. We will be returning shortly!

I went to The Gun last weekend and had the best time. What a lovely place! We had a quiet drink on the terrace before our meal. The terrace is amazing, with its views and heaters, and with the sun out it felt like summer. The food was incredible too. I'm so pleased I decided to bring my family here when they came down to visit. We've already booked a table for when my husband's parents come over.

Had an amazing meal here last week. Pricey, but atmosphere and food superb.

Great pub, great location, great friendly staff. Mixture of locals and incomers. And only a short walk from the centre of Canary Wharf.
