Poor customer service from receptonists and occasionally borderline 'rude'. Go there for the colour, that's actually the only good thing in that salon. Though be prepared to be asked at least 10 times if you want to order something from the bar... once or twice it's fine, asking more that 3 times is just wrong (you're supposed to be hairdressers not waitresses)!

I have been a client of Daniel Galvin for the last 13 years and have been lucky enough to have Daniel himself do my colour, successfully changing me from a brunette to beautiful blonde. I am very proud to say that I have seen his juniors, who he taught from the very beginning, become very famous colourists. So if you want fabulous hair colour there is only one man to give you that, and the rest is history.

I used to go regularly as I liked the way Bobby cut my hair (even if he did always seem slightly disinterested). However, his prices suddenly shot through the roof. I also got my hair coloured with Charlotte for a while. I wanted to go blonder but she kept dying it this weird ginger colour, and I had to go back about once per month. In the end I went to Rush in Richmond and saw Tim who, for a fraction of the price, has given me glossy blonde hair.

Just home from having my hair done at Daniel Galvin. Have to say, from start to finish an amazing experience. Reception happy and helpful, colourist highly professional and gave some great suggestions that I was happy to follow. I also had my hair cut and the young lady did a great job. I am recommending them to all my friends and work pals.

Thought I would try this supposedly top salon for a cut and colour. Big mistake!! Haircut was indifferent and highlights a disaster. Whilst having hair washed after highlights put in, I noticed nearly white streaks in my brown hair and had to have a 'toning down' tonic applied, which stung my scalp quite badly. Have never had to have this before, and results looked so artificial and wrong that I went elsewhere the following day for a semi to tone it all down. Horrible mess. If you're thinking of going to get something special, I advise you not to.

I was foolish to let a junior at Daniel Galvin use me as a model, and now my hair's a total mess. The stylist seemed either dazed or under pressure. It cannot be corrected at the salon's expense, as I agreed to be a model some time ago.

Just had my hair highlighted and cut at the new exclusive Daniel Galvin salon in the Corinthia Hotel, Embankment. All the staff were so friendly and I was very well looked after. Best of all, my hair has never looked better! So grateful, thanks guys! I highly recommend this salon.

I have been to many West End salons for colour and I had the most amazing experience at Daniel Galvin. My highlights are the best they have ever been. Would highly recommend this salon to all friends, family and colleagues. Have already booked my next appointment.

They are completely and utterly incapable of highlighting hair. Do not go there. They messed up my hairline and made it streaky, plus they said they couldn't add depth to classic highlights due to the fact it would make my hair 'turn green' (all good salons can add lowlights without a problem). Daniel Galvin are not highly skilled and operate on name only.

I had my hair cut at Daniel Galvin and was very pleased with the results. Stylist was lovely, as was the assistant, and the whole salon had a very warm, kind atmosphere.

Had a delightful experience at Daniel Galvin with my stylist, Molly. She took care of my hair, reassured me and made me so comfortable throughout the whole experience. The salon is lovely and all the staff are pleasant. Will definitely be returning.

I would avoid this place based on my recent experience. I had a very young stylist who seemed to completely ignore what I said and just cut my hair exactly how she wanted (bearing in mind she was probably 10 years younger than me, and she gave me a cut that would suit someone her age - not mine). She was also so rough with my hair that I was actually wincing in pain and had to ask her to be more careful when dragging the comb through the same section time and time again for seemingly no reason.

Having asked for nothing off the length, just a tidy up of the ends and shape (keeping long layers throughout), I left with 3 inches off the length and choppy layers. Not what you'd expect for £70 - extremely disappointed and verging on angry about the whole experience.

Had my hair done at Daniel Galvin hair salon in George Street. What a fantastic job they did. My colour and cut is the best it has ever been! Well worth every penny. Had so many compliments already. All staff were really friendly and the front of house team made me feel very relaxed. Thanks Daniel Galvin salon.

I have been twice recently to have my hair cut. My stylist, David, is an absolute genius at cutting my curly hair. The staff are friendly and efficient on the whole, and I am thrilled with my new style. Well worth the £126 for cut and blow dry.

I have been going here for a few years now. I have Karen for colouring and Bobby for cut and style. Lovely people and first class service. Always delighted when I leave and cannot fault it. Karen is very talented.

I had my hair coloured and cut at Daniel Galvin yesterday and am completely thrilled with the results. I often have problems with getting across to my hairdresser what I really want, but at DG the stylist was AMAZING at deciphering my request! Well worth the money I spent and I will definitely be returning!

After lots of research to find the right place to correct my hair colour, I went to DG. Richard was really honest and knowledgeable. He told me the truth, i.e. that miracles wouldn't happen but he'd do the best he could. He did everything himself and kept checking it. I score the colour 8/10.

I have seen the salon before on a Saturday and it was busy and not very friendly. However, I went on a Wednesday and it was quiet and nice. Had a blow dry done by a junior - was not bad but not great. If you are going for colour though, go and forget all the other negative things!

I will go again, hoping to achieve 10/10.

I visited Daniel Galvin’s last week for the first time, as they are always described in various magazines as colour specialists. I was not disappointed. After having the same colour for years, I wanted to have something different and go for a slight change. After a thorough consultation with my colourist and stylist, I was made to feel at ease and, furthermore, felt like I was in safe hands.

The salon itself, presented beautifully, had a lively atmosphere, and everyone was especially friendly. The junior who looked after me gave me a great hair wash and made sure I was looked after with constant refreshments and up-to-date magazines (something I never find at other salons). What impressed me the most with Daniel Galvin was my new colour and the glossy blow dry my stylist accomplished. The busy reception team were highly professional and warm, and only reinforced my decision that this will be my new salon.

This was my first visit to a top West End salon and I would just like to say how impressed I was. I was nervous because I'd never had my hair coloured before but I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who put me at ease. I had a consultation with Louise V, who then suggested I have half a head of highlights instead of the full head I'd originally booked for. She was very professional and I would thoroughly recommend her. I also had a shellac manicure with Carole. I'd never heard of it before, it's a special manicure that means I only need my nails painted every fortnight - brilliant!
