Thought I would treat myself and go to ED. Well, I won’t be going again.
I paid £75 for a treatment, wash and blow dry. I did not know that I had to pay extra for a blow dry - who does that? I was also not even offered a drink and I am 6 months pregnant! Drinks and toast were being brought to clients sat next to me and still I wasn’t offered either. The service was horrid. While the afro section is stuck in the basement, I myself (who have afro hair) was put upstairs in the European section where the divide is evident. I was also not offered a magazine while I was under the drier for half an hour and all the other stylists could see me sat there bored.
The people who go here have more money than sense, but ED know how to keep their regular clients as they are so friendly with them. Overall, I will be sticking to Toni & Guy - the service is top notch, it's less expensive, less pretentious, and I at least get offered a drink!

I am in total agreement with n jones. I paid £70 to have my hair snipped. He may be brilliant as a European stylist but I think he should lose the trademark as an afro stylist. I will never go back. I can honestly say this is the first time I have been to the hairdressers and feel like I have been done BIG TIME. Rating zero. Not that I am bitching, they charged me £2.50 for a can of coke. I know it's Knightsbridge, but really...

Just been to the Errol Douglas Salon after another salon damaged my hair and I'm over the moon. The cut and colour are the best I've had in over 30 years (I have very difficult Afro hair). Thank you so much to the team at ED... you've got a fan for life!

I had a superb shampoo and set at Errol Douglas, courtesy of the lovely Steve. It's not something I would normally have done (in fact, it was my husband's idea), but being sat under the drier made a change from being blow-dried, and I loved the big bouncy curls that resulted.

I've had my hair cut several times at Errol's. It's not my usual salon, I tend to keep it as more of a treat, and that it is! Every time I walk in the staff are immediately warm, welcoming and bubbly. That initial impression is maintained thoroughly all the way through the experience. The service feels extremely personal and makes you feel like a valued customer.
When I visit the salon (I'm a guy) I tend to let the stylists create something of their own. I have always been 100% satisfied with the finish and the process. I would, and do, recommend the salon to anyone!
The ethos at Errol's, in my eyes, is: 'A valued experience for anyone and everyone, with high service and exceptional technical ability'.

I recently went to the Errol Douglas salon, to have a restyle. I have mixed hair and have always struggled to find a salon that caters for my hair type. The whole experience was amazing and I walked out the salon feeling like a million dollars. I will highly recommend this salon to friends and family and will be returning myself.
I read the last couple of reviews about the salon having an 'apartheid' ethos and cannot understand why they have come to this conclusion. Is this because they find it difficult to understand that there is such a salon that caters for both European and Afro hair, which is very unique in this day and age? I personally think that all salons in London should follow Errol Douglas as an example.

I went to Errol Douglas a few days ago and was extremely happy with my final result. I was especially shocked because I have natural, thick afro hair, and was dubious about whether it could be cut into the style that I wanted. However, Eve - the stylist - handled my hair beautifully.
Although I personally feel that the people that work in the European section could be much more friendly, as it costs nothing to smile, the overall experience was good. It is sad that Mr Douglas felt the need to shove the afro section in the basement and to create such an obvious division between his white and black clients. However I am sure he has his reasons, no matter how poor they may be.
If you have afro hair, definitely ask for Eve - she is a magician, an alchemist with hair, and is a very nice person who makes you feel very relaxed. I personally feel that she was worth every penny. I must say though, that if Eve ever left, as a black woman I would never return to the salon.

Errol claims to be an expert in afro hair. This is not the case. Personally, I think he is one of the worst hairdressers I have been to. He and his staff like to focus on the European clients. He was unable to even blow dry my hair to a satisfactory standard. The fact is, he has some skill as a photographer and takes stylised photos to submit to black hair magazines. Do not confuse this with Errol being a good afro hair stylist. Every black woman I have known to visit his salon has never gone back. That is not due to the expense but to the lack of expertise in cutting and styling black hair. If you are a black/afro client my advice is: don't do it - you will regret it!

Just come from Errol Douglas for highlights and all I can say is 'wow'! Best place I've ever had my hair done, and I'm fussy! Highly recommended. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Top class salon.

I recently came to Errol Douglas to have a full head of hair extentions with Emily. I have about 5 different colours in my hair and Emily matched up each individual strand perfectly! My hair has never looked so good and I would say to anyone looking to have hair extentions to go here. It was well worth the money and I would definitely go back. The salon as a whole was lovely, the staff are all very friendly and efficent and the service was impeccable.

Have been going to this salon for years. Very good service, always leave feeling and looking wonderful. The staff are friendly, all very efficient and professional. Management is anything but complacent; I find Errol to be in touch with his clients, passionate about beautiful hair and committed to good customer service.
If you're after beautiful hair, visit them.

A friend of mine recommedned this salon to me and I loved it! The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Emily who cut my hair was great, I loved the cut and will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this salon.

My lacklustre locks have now been rejuvenated by Errol and his superb team. I made the journey from Oxford to his salon because of his brilliant expertise. The staff were courteous, helpful and polite and made the journey well worthwhile. I will be going back!

I love this salon! I've been to Errol for cuts and Jasmine for colour, and my boyfriend sees Jamie for his cuts. Highly recommend it.
