Fordham Soho Hair Salon London (ex Fordham White)

You know what it's like, your long-time barber/stylist moves away, putting you in limbo with where to go next. Luckily I work in Soho, so everywhere's decent - right? Wrong. I've been to two places before going to Fordham's and they both sucked. Impersonal service from the big chains and rip-off prices with so-called top salons left me desperately searching for a decent cut that won't require a loan to pay for.

Enter Fordhams... Had a cut with Luke the other day. Absolutely top lad, who knew exactly whats he's doing. Knocked 20% off the price too. I really can't recommend this place highly enough, it's laid back and chilled and very welcoming. Nice one guys, I shall definitely be recommending you further.

I've been getting my hair cut by Colin at Fordham for about 4 years now and it's never been anything less than excellent. The salon has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, the staff are helpful and professional and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Consistently top notch.

I discovered Fordham Soho totally by chance by googling in search of an affordable place to have a haircut. I found out about their special offers and discounts and I called to book an appointment.

I was really lucky to find them, what a great experience! I must confess that I usually don't enjoy going to hair salons - I just don't spend too much time on my hair - so this was a first. Everybody was really kind and nice and made me feel very comfortable. Luke is a superb professional and I loved his work (art?) with my hair, and his pieces of advice, not to mention how patient and nice he was. I met Sean, Luke and Colin and they all treated me like a queen. Despite being a first-time customer, I felt as if I was an old one. They also welcome you with a free drink of choice in the reception area, which feels great.

I'm very happy to have found a hair salon that I like. I'll definitely recommend to others and will be back!

Extremely happy with my haircut and experience. Colin was fantastic. It was my first time visiting the salon but I was made to feel like an old friend that had been going there for years. I left feeling very glamorous. All the team were really friendly and professional.

After a really bad cut and colour, I was quite apprehensive about trying out a new salon. I met Alisha and she was fantastic. She was super friendly, attentive and really listened to what I wanted done. For the colour she paid such close attention to detail, not scrimping on the foils. The colour was just as I wanted, not real brassy blonde but shiny and the perfect tone of blonde colour. On previous occasions my hair has been left feeling really dry but she gave it a good condition, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. I just wanted a trim and style and didn’t want her to go too crazy with the scissors, so was really happy with the finished result.

Alisha’s obviously really passionate about what she does and it shows in the level of service provided. I would recommend her to anyone who just wants a good hairdresser that has the intuition to know exactly what it is you want done.

It is really hard to find a GREAT hairdresser, but after my appointment at Fordham last week, I've found mine! I booked full head highlights & cut and finish with Alisha. I was really pleased with her work and certainly will book again soon.

After a disastrous cut by a chap at another salon, I arrived at Fordham Soho for an appointment with Alisha. I am incredibly awful at trying to describe what I am after. Somehow Alisha managed to figure it out pretty much straight away and didn't go anywhere near my hair until she was sure we were on the same page. I left with my head held high, feeling absolutely gorgeous! She explained everything as she was cutting my hair - why she was cutting certain bits, how it would hang better in this place, etc.

I have since been back for highlights - again, AMAZING. I really hope Alisha doesn't go back to Oz anytime soon, she is an absolute angel. Also, the salon is really cool and modern, they give you more drinks than you could possibly ask for, and the guy on reception is just adorable! Overall, a lovely experience where I was made to feel at ease and very comfortable. Highly recommended!!

I really wouldn't recommend this place. I expected so much more for the cost. I'd had a great cut recently, but being a temporary visitor to London, I was keen to pay for something which I knew would be good. The result wasn't at all what I wanted - I'll need it redone again in just a few weeks. For the amount I paid, I felt totally cheated. Won't be going back. The search for a good salon continues...

Phoned today to book another cut and colour with James, who did an amazing job on my hair last time I went to the salon, only to be told that he has now left. Not only am I devastated by this news, but he is the third stylist who has done my hair here that I've liked and then has left before I can book in for a second appointment. I can only wonder whether there is a reason that the salon can't manage to hold on to decent staff?

I won't be returning to Fordham again. It would be nice to be able to have my hair done by the same stylist on more than one occasion, so I will have to find somewhere else. I only wish that I knew where James has moved to. He did such an amazing job with my highlights. What a shame!

I recently got my hair cut at Fordham. Had been looking for a good place, so was happy to find here. My hairdresser, Alisha, was really friendly. She had to fix the terrible cut I had previously had done at another salon. Loved the end result! Would recommend.

I recently had a haircut here. My hairdresser was Alisha, she'd just started. I got my style cut fixed up as it was uneven from my last hairdresser (different place), also a half head of foils. Alisha was so helpful in assisting me to choose the right colour foils for my hair. We ended up with three different types. She is also honest and gives you her point of view and is very good at interpreting what you want from your experience. The whole salon was really friendly and I will definitely go back and get another cut and colour by Alisha.

I had a really average haircut here. I appreciate they may usually do a great job, but for me the hairdressing was merely just adequate. I said I didn't want a fringe and the stylist, whose English was a little muddled, misinterpreted and cut in a fringe. I also said "I don't want to use a hairdryer", and the cut I got required a little hairdry time each day. Just about a minute and a half "for body", but that is NOT what I asked for. Low maintenance, no hairdrying, no fringe. I wasn't disfigured when I left, but I was absolutely disappointed. This cut felt more like going through the motions...

I DID contact the salon afterwards and email through my displeasure and they DID make overtures to try and fix things, but seriously... only TIME will grow out my fringe again.

Recently arriving in London from Sydney, I was looking for a cool place for a haircut with a London twist. A friend recommended Fordham Soho. It was easy to find and Alisha cut my hair. She knew what I was looking for, and had great styling tips. I will definitely be going back.

There is only one hair salon that I would recommend to my friends and that is Fordham's. I am really precious about my hair and the colourists and stylists always take the time to discuss what I want and always, always get it. Whats more, while the salon is very trendy, it is not pretentious and everyone makes you feel comfortable and treats you very well.

Today I had my hair coloured by Andrew and cut by Colin. They were superb and, as usual, I am really pleased with it. Don't listen to 'truthful reviewer' (who is so obviously a sore competitor)and book an appointment!

Post dated 18/02/11 is obviously from a sorry competitor. I'm incredibly fussy about who cuts my hair and have frequented many of the top studios in central London. As a business owner myself, I am pleased to share with you that Fordham provides a fantastic service and you will leave very satisfied, as I have for many years. I recommend Colin.

I had my first experience at Fordham Soho last night, and it won't be my last. I was greeted with smiles all round, and quickly made to feel welcome by being introduced to several members of the team. The salon is a beautifully decorated place, with a relaxed trendy vibe - exactly what you'd expect from a visit to Soho.

I was looked after by Claire, who is one of the Senior Stylists. She made me feel very welcome and took excellent care of me, while also delivering an excellent haircut. For a guy who is never happy with his haircut (as in, me), I can honestly say I've now found my salon of choice.
