Martyn Maxey reviews
I have used the website a couple of times to buy hair products online. This past week I checked out the hairstyling at the salon. Fantastic results! Lots of comments on my uber-coiffed do... will definitely try a cut next time. Highly recommend for the season's office parties (if you're lucky enough to be going to one in the present climate!!). Not overly priced for the area either.

I had a terrible experience here and can't recommend them at all. Awful service and a bad cut.

I visited the salon today for the first time and I have to admit I was very impressed. I was greeted by the friendliest receptionist. My hair was very damaged but they worked a miracle on it. I feel so much better now my hair is in good condition. This is a salon everyone needs to go to. Definitely money well spent. I also found out that Martyn Maxey has an online shop where I can order my products and they will be delivered to my home - what a fantastic service!

I visited the salon for a facial and have to say the therapist was great - I felt so relaxed. Great service all round.

All I can say is: WOW!!! My hair was in a bad state when I went to the salon, but they did a fantastic job and I couldn't believe the end result. I never thought I'd find a salon that would be able to fix what other salons had ruined. I was there for a while and the time I spent in there was great - they even managed to do a manicure and a pedicure while I was having my hair done. Will be telling all my friends and family about this salon.

The customer service I received was the best I've ever had. I had my nails done by a lady called Gene not only was she very friendly but very professional at the same time. Her work is outstanding, I will not go anywhere else but Martyn Maxey.

I had the best bio nails done, ever. I have travelled all over the world and have never had them done as well as I have in Martyn Maxey. Gene is fantastic and I will be telling all my friends and family about this salon.

I travelled a long way for my first visit to Martyn Maxey. My hair was not great when I walked in but I walked out feeling a million dollars. France coloured my hair. She was extremely professional and friendly and did a great job. Martyn was brilliant - he listened to what I wanted and I had the best cut ever. I felt that I had been listened to for the first time in a salon and I also picked up some very useful tips for haircare. I did not have to wait at all and everyone was friendly. I had an enjoyable afternoon. It was money well spent and I shall definitely go again.

After spending £75 on 'Biosculpture' nails, they were un-even and had ridges in them and were peeling by the next day. My therapist put a silk layer over the nail tips, which left visible air bubbles. Her response was: "Well nobody will be looking that closely". The nail files were used and worn, which is hardly acceptable, and the manicure counter was covered in dust - or more likely other clients nail filings. Needless to say, I won't be going back. There are much better salons around with higher levels of customer service and better therapists.

Daxita is the best for threading EVER. I have been going to her for 4 years now and would never let anyone else near my eyebrows. Highly recommended.

Daxita for threading - she's brilliant! I don't rate their hair colour/cut, but I think the beauty and threading are first class.

My stylist was so sweet that I actually hesitate to say anything bad about her. The truth is, she didn't give me a very good hair cut and left a lot of hair on my face without brushing it away. However, I could clearly tell that she put a lot of effort in to it, and she always tried to maintain a merry atmosphere.
The receptionist wasn't particularly helpful, and the therapist who gave me the complimentary eyebrow shaping didn't impress either - was even bordering annoying when she tried a bit too hard to sell me her other treatments and wouldn't even pass me my handbag when my mobile rang. Will try somewhere else next time.

I tried a new stylist there back in July and had a great experience. The salon looks fresh and sophisticated and the standard of service was very high. This salon had a really warm atmosphere, unlike some of the other salons in the area which can be very intimidating. Most importantly, my hair looked great!

I had the best cut of my life. Service and staff were great, a real London salon.

I gave the salon 4, with the following proviso: I have always been made to feel special, but have found that when Martyn is not on the premises a little of the care and attention falls away when trying to book appointments or purchase products.

I gave the salon a 3 because there was no vibe. For the price I'd probably try some place more hip. Even though my stylist was good, I like having the overall experience when I go to have my hair done.

I had a good cut and color, and was told to come back a week before my wedding to get my color retouched. It's a week before and they have no record of my color card, and no one who can even tell me who my stylist was. You should never pay so much money for such poor service.
