Great salon. Like many others, I was recommended Lounge by a friend who raves about it. I agree, the stylists are among the best I have ever had BUT I would offer this advice: always request to have your hair cut by a stylist. I can only guess that the poor reviews on this site have come from people who had the less experienced members of staff cut their hair. I had this once when my regular was away, so I can understand.

Ask for a stylist and you can be almost guaranteed one of the best cuts of your life!

Went to The Lounge and saw Emma. Can not praise her enough, she gave me some great advice and was really friendly and chatty. All the staff are really nice, not pretentious and bitchy like in some other so-called trendy salons, and I will definitely be returning.

Highly recommended. Thanks to the other reviewers for recommending Emma. She was absolutely fantastic. The best hair cut I've ever had in London. To Emma: thank you very much, you made my day! Will definitely visit again.

Found this salon as I was searching online for a good London salon as was coming to London for a short break and wanted a good professional haircut during my stay. I can honestly say this is the best hair cut I've ever had - thanks to Riley at The Lounge Soho. It was a great experience from start to finish. Appreciated the offer of a welcome drink, loved loved loved the massage chair, and Kelly gave a really good head massage too. But the star of the show was Riley, who first of all really listened to what I wanted done, and boy did he deliver!! Five days later my hair still looks fabulous and am getting compliments from everyone here back home in Malta. I can't thank Riley enough. I never want anyone else to cut my hair! Hope to see you soon for my next great cut!

When I moved to London, I was worried about finding a new hairdresser because I have difficult hair and only a few hairdressers really can cut a good gent's cut. I have been visiting The Lounge Soho for about a year now and I would thoroughly recommend it. I've had my hair cut by the lovely Emma and found that she manages to cut my hair in a way that I don't have to put much product in it (normally I'd have to put a lot of product in my hair just to keep it in place, and this was one of my major issues). This is perhaps one of Emma's signatures. Therefore I would recommend The Lounge Soho and the fabulous Emma, as she is a genius.

I visited The Lounge Soho a couple of weeks ago and was seen by Cyndii. Cyndii was very professional and took the time to go through with me what colour I would like and what recommendation she had. As a result I have never been happier with my hair colour and cut! I also found the salon a very warm and welcoming environment and was even offered a glass of wine when I arrived. As I had a fantastic experience, I would highly recommend Cyndii and the salon.

Few places manage blokes' desire for a killer cut and easy service - sadly, this place is no different.

Online booking - easy, but requires them to email/phone to confirm which, to their credit, they did. But they also changed the time of my booking.

Arrival - got there on time, and they kept me waiting for 20 mins (after asking me to come 15 mins earlier than the appointment I booked on their website).

Service - you won't go short of a drink here, as they're keen to offer you anything from booze to coffee. Other than that, expect the ordinary.

Cut - pretty rubbish. I asked for a restyle, and like so many hairdressers they weren't equipped to deal with this. What I got was an amateurish take on the short back and sides. Like most hair dressers he took far more off than I asked for, and took 'choppy' (seemed to be what he, rather than I, went for) to a new degree of inexpert slicing.

Value - £40 for an apathetic cut that I'm relieved will (in my case) grow out quickly? I was asked to fill in a customer form, which I reckon was pretty pointless since I won't be going back.

I moved to London over 2 years ago with a group of girlfriends. We spent a good 6 months trying to find a colourist that could do the 'white blonde' we had asked for so many times! Needless to say, we stumbled across the talented Cindii at The Lounge Soho. I don't think I need to say much more than ALL the girls living in my house have now been going to see Cindii every month for at least the past 2 years (there are 7 girls living in our house!).

(FYI: Cindii doesn't mind if you roll in on a Saturday morning still in your clothes from the night before. The girls at The Lounge will make your hair look amazing - so much so, you don't really need to go home again, you can just roll into the next club looking fabulous!)

I have been to many different hair salons in and around London and, until this one, had never found one where I felt comfortable. The Lounge is a lovely, friendly salon which makes a refreshing change from the generally pretentious, overpriced salons in London. The friendly receptionist, Jade, always offers me a FREE drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), which is a nice touch after a hard day's work!

If you are not sure whether you want a re-style or just want to stick with your usual haircut, the stylists are really helpful and actually take the time to discuss different styles with you and are not trying to hurry you out of the door. I have been back to The Lounge five times now and would not go anywhere else to get my hair cut. I cannot recommend Riley and Emma enough.

I have been going to The Lounge Soho to dye my blonde hair black for quite some time. I then decided that I wanted to be blonde again, but bleached blonde. I went to Cyndi, the colourist, and my fears were confirmed that it was going to be much more trouble going from black to blonde than the reverse. Not to mention more expensive. It's really down to the quality of the hair as to whether it will take 4/5 months of bleaching or perhaps only two. With Cyndi's help I am now a very pure bleach colour that I wanted. But the thing is that it only took her three bleaches in one month to get me to the colour I wanted. I am very happy with the colour and, most importantly, my hair is in good condition because it was all done so professionally. They all know what they are doing, especially when it comes to clients wanting something a bit different.

I'm always slightly apprehensive when visiting a new salon for the first time, trying a new stylist. I'm a busy person and I spend about 30 minutes every morning getting ready, but I like to look good. My hair is a big part of that - I want it to be striking, but effortless.

All these thoughts are going through my head before my appointment at The Lounge. Recommended to me by a friend, who recently told me over a glass of wine how fantastic their wine is, and "Oh! Those massage chairs!"... So why not? Gone are the days of free hair cuts from modelling, let's try treating myself for a change.

I walk into The Lounge and my concerns are instantly swept away. Greeted with a smile from reception, I take a seat and admire my surroundings. The salon is clean, refreshing and relaxing. Upstairs the stylists cut trendy, edgy styles and give new life to classic cuts. Downstairs, you have the luxury of not just any old hair wash - up my feet go and on comes the back massage. All this while having my hair washed by an expert, who talks enough to keep you comfortable but not too much as to be irritating.

I am taken back to my seat, greeted with a drink of my choice, alcoholic or non (I try the wine, as it had been so fiercely recommended). My consultation went well, I am happy with my stylist. She's stylish without being obnoxious, comfortable in herself, and a little out of the ordinary - perfect. And she understands exactly what I want. She is efficient without rushing, precise without taking hours.

Comfort and peace is a big theme throughout The Lounge. Their staff are relaxed and content, the salon itself is modern but not without character. And the salon owner, Jo Mills, is charismatic beyond belief - warm and approachable and effortlessly cool. He has faith in his staff, and fully believes in his business. This salon is not just about the hair cut, it's about the whole experience.

And the best part of all? It doesn't break the bank, and you get far more than you pay for. So I leave, fully equipped with new hairstyle, and I'm perfectly happy in the knowledge I won't have to worry about trying out a new stylist for a long time to come.

I went to The Lounge after years of having my hair butchered by cheap barbers. I wasn't convinced it would be worth paying to get my barnet cut properly but these guys really changed my mind.

The service was really friendly, and Ian, who cut my hair, really took the time to talk about what I wanted and to explain the way my hair grows and the way the haircut would grow out, which was a nice touch (as was the complimentary beer!).

Definitely not one of those pretentious OTT salons, just people who know what they're doing doing it really well! An unexpected 'first time' discount sweetened the deal, but even without it I'd definitely be going back!

I moved to London in September and was really worried it would be hard to find a good hairdressers I could afford. Not only is The Lounge really reasonably priced, it is also friendly, relaxed and they do a great job. I get my hair cut by Emma and it's the first time I have had a stylist who really understands my hair. I am so happy with my new 'do' and can't believe the compliments I'm getting. Thanks!!

I've been going to The Lounge for too long! I was recommended Lucy by a friend of mine and now half my address book use her! I love this girl. She knows exactly what I want - I've had about 6 different styles from her and they are always perfect for me. She does my cut and colour, so no hassle of switching stylists. I refuse to go anywhere else despite the fact I don't work in Soho any more and it's a bit of a schlep to get there. Lucy is worth every penny in my mind.

I've been going to The Lounge for nearly two years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Cyndii does fab colour and also recommended the Brazilian Keratin treatment for my out of control curly hair and I could have cried with joy - it's amazing! My hair is smooth, controllable and doesn't go mental every time the British weather takes a turn for the worse. Anyone who is fed up with their hair doing its own thing should definitely get this treatment! I've had it done twice now and will continue to do so as it's just made life a lot easier! Paula does the most amazing cut and really understands what you want and then delivers it.

I recommend this salon to everyone I know, it's just brilliant. After years of disappointing experiences, it's really refreshing to find somewhere like The Lounge.

I started going to The Lounge about 8 years ago, to have my hair cut by Jo. Not only have I never been anywhere else for a cut since, but I also now go there for my colour!

Jo is amazing. He always listens to what I want, is a complete perfectionist, incredibly friendly and runs a really well organized shop! I find the cuts I have with Joe have more life to them than any other I've ever had. My hair grows really fast and with previous hairdressers I've always found that after about 3 weeks my cut wouldn't be looking so great, but with Jo it's about 3 months before I go to see him again - it's almost like the cut just gets better and better!

As for my colour, I used to go to a 'swanky' (and horribly overpriced) salon. Finally after a couple of bad experiences at that place, I was having my hair cut with Jo and we started to talk about the colour and that I wasn't happy with it. Within the week I was back in the chair and having a whole new colour experience! This was over a year ago and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Cindy, who does my colour, is incredible. She's very friendly and I can honestly say I've never been happier with the colour.

As for the salon itself, very cool decor and friendly staff. Great hair washes and blow dries. I have a couple of male friends who get their hair cut with Jo as well and they all think he's great, so The Lounge is not just for the ladies!

Can't recommend Jo and Cindy and The Lounge highly enough.

I was recommended to visit The Lounge by a friend after 10 years of living in London and finding salons either intimidating, uninterested in clients or unsatisfactory in the cuts. That was 3 years ago and I have never looked back!

This salon is very welcoming and every effort is made to make the client relaxed. Jo cuts my hair and knows exactly what I should have in terms of my face shape, hair type and personality. The cut itself is always done with absolute precision and I always get compliments from people I know and even sometimes strangers. I have never had a salon experience as 100% positive as the one I have here. Do yourself a favour and check it out!

I’ve been meaning to write a review on here for ages but kept forgetting – have been spurred on my my flatmate getting a really good cut a couple of weeks ago that she’s getting compliments on (think her stylist was Carlos?).

I’ve been a semi-regular for years – I only stopped going because I stopped working in Soho and got lazy. But I got so frustrated after trying 2 other salons nearer me that I went back and am really glad I have!

Main reason I like it: they’re good at understanding what you want so I don’t feel I have to spend ages explaining (I hate sitting through a cut stressing about how it might turn out).
It also has a pretty laid back feel – I’ve got male and female friends who go there but the guys who go seem to keep going because it’s not pretentious like a lot of places. Pretty good prices too for Soho.

HORRIBLE. I told the stylist specifically what I did NOT want... and she gave me that! I'm now stuck with short hair that will take a year to grow out, and when I showed my disappointment the stylist showed a horrible attitude and acted as if it was all my fault even though I had told her what not to do. What a waste of time and money, just to end up looking hideous. At least the manager is nice enough to say she'll refund my money if their stylists can't fix it... it's the least they can do! I wish they hadn't ruined a year's worth of growth in the first place!

I've been a regular now at The Lounge since it opened, and would never go anywhere else. The team is friendly and down to earth, and don't have the pretentious nature of some London salons. I've always been given excellent advice and guidance on what suits me, and always get comments on the quality of my cut from others. I highly recommend giving them a try - you will never go anywhere else.
