Rockwell reviews
Went to Rockwell bar last night for drinks with friends and had some of the most wonderfully made drinks I've ever had. The staff were attentive and of good humour and bent over backwards for us. All in all, ten out of ten! If you are looking for a great hotel bar with great music, drinks and staff then this is certainly the right place. Rock on Rockwell!
by Bradley Smith, 17 Jan 2008We went to the lower Rockwell on Christmas Day for lunch, booked because they'd told us about their vegetarian options. I had double-checked on this, and even got the hotel to email me a copy of the Christmas Day vegetarian options - including a spicy parsnip soup starter and two choices of main course. This menu was the ONLY reason we booked at the hotel. Of course, we turn up and there is no soup. Had to have cold, nasty salad instead (not on the menu we'd got), and only a single choice of main course. Ruined our Christmas. Don't trust this place!
by annoyed, 27 Dec 2007Yes it's expensive, yes its service is not as speedy as some London's binge drinking bars. But the decor is outstanding, the clientele is quiet, well dressed and fashionable. Good things come to those who wait, and if you are looking for a quick drink go to another bar. Music is well chosen and fitted the ambiance for the evening. Staff were very well dressed and knowledgeable on the quality drinks available, in fact the whiskey sour was made to perfection and frankly I would pay excess for it. If I felt as though I wanted quick service in a cheap bar you can take your pick of the thousands of London's bars, I go to the Rockwell because it's one of the best.
by Richard, 04 Aug 2005Terrible place. Drinks were massively overpriced (£8.50 for a gin and tonic, plus service charge on all drinks). Service was completely useless and very slow. We were told we couldn't sit in certain places, then when a group of celebs came in and couldn't go on the roof terrace because it was raining, they asked us to move. Don't get ripped off, go elsewhere.
by janmoomoo, 01 Aug 2005Going up the stairs to the roof terrace on a sunny evening transports you to another place! Beautiful setting with fantastic views.
by mandy, 18 Jul 2005Best bar in London, serving the best Old Fashioned in London. A very very cool bar. Go there, you'll enjoy it.
by Max Romeo (2 reviews), 19 Nov 2004You would never guess that this was a hotel bar, as it has a classy and modern feel to the open seating and bar area. Good selection of cocktails and one of the few smart places to go for a drink in the Whitehall/ Trafalgar Square area.
