Vama reviews
The food was cold and served on cold plates. The food quality was average at best, and the service was inferior to that in an average Indian restaurant. The restaurant itself was cold too (not helped by a constant flow of people coming in to get take-aways). We moved table but my wife still kept her coat on throughout. Very, very disappointing and not cheap.
by wallaben, 05 Mar 2008Great food! Not your usual everyday curry, the food here actually has delicate flavours that comes from years of expertise. Excellent service too. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in London, I'd say.
by bijou, 20 Apr 2007We went on Valentine's Day and the service was awful - we ended up walking out after 2 hrs when we had only been served starters! The staff didn't even explain why they were so slow. The night was ruined, not only for us but for a dozen other couples too. For a supposedly good restaurant the experience was shocking.
by v k, 17 Feb 2007We shortlisted Vama to cater our son's wedding at Cafe Royale. Their service, especially the attention to detail, was very impressive. Thank you Vama - keep it up!
by Anonymous, 05 Sep 2006Loved the food. However, one time the waiter tripped and emptied half the contents of a bottle of champagne all over me. Just an apology, no fresh bottle or money off. That's plain stingy in my books. It makes me feel less inclined to justify the price tags and takes any shine off what they aspire to be.
by Zylonmule, 24 Jan 2006The best Indian in London at affordable prices. I recommend the saag chicken.
by Anonymous, 23 Oct 2005Visited Vama on 1 June and was very surprised. The staff was friendly and the food was fantastic. I'm vegetarian and was very happy with a choice they offer.
by Anonymous, 10 Jun 2005Been a regular of Vama for over a year. Food and service never disappoint and after visiting all the new establishments Vama still scores in my opinion.
by Anonymous, 23 May 2005Terrible. The service is very bad. The girl that hosts you makes you wonder if you've mistaken places... Did you enter a peep-show by mistake? I'm not expecting an Indian lady dressed in a sari, but please there are limits!
And don't get me started on the food. Honestly, I would rather recommend Amaya or La Porte des Indes if you're craving for some good Indian food and a nice atmosphere. This is a very dull restaurant, no feel to it, the food was bad and the service unacceptable. I hated it and disappointed the people I took over there.
I will never return - there are so many other beautiful Indian quality restaurants, don't waste your time here.
Have we missed a great restaurant in London? Let us know.
