Went there for a weekday lunchtime meal. Food certainly worth a star. Service rather lacking. More junior staff very attentive and courteous but maître d'/sommelier poor. Other Michelin restaurants (without exception) always explain/introduce wine and cheese selections with an evident desire to enhance the dining experience. This was completely absent. There was little interest in the style of wines we were requesting, and it was also notable that on both bottles ordered the tab came within 50p of our stated limit (when there were a number of cheaper options). If there had been any evident interest in ‘getting it right’ for us, I wouldn’t have minded. Quite literally, I had no way of knowing that there was any relevant training behind the service.
