Makiyaki reviews
Whether wanting comfort food, somewhere to celebrate, or just somewhere different to go, you can always guarantee that Makiyaki will provide good food, good service and a good atmosphere. Tuna & Garlic Salad is excellent, as are the Maki Rolls, and the Sashimi is to die for. But besides the food the service is excellent. I've been to Japan, tried Japanese restaurants in central London (expensive) and still rate Makiyaki as the best.
by Liz Gray, 16 Mar 2008Went for the second time last night and it was just as good as the first. Lots of variety, staff are well mannered, and the food looks and tastes better than the pics in the menu. Go in a group of 4+ then you can pick & mix it up.
by dabbo, 16 Aug 2007Fantastic rolls, wonderful sushi, gorgeous sashimi and very efficient and kind people.
by Enzo, 19 Feb 2007Very good. Good value for money and some interesting little dishes and variations you won't find elsewhere. Have only ever been to one better Japanese restaurant which was almost twice the price of Makiyaki. I don't go anywhere else but here now.
by Forest, 19 Sep 2006Superb restaurant and attentive service. Probably best quality sushi in South London. Prices are a little on the high side.
by Martin G, 24 Jul 2006Always a pleasure to eat here... superb and different Japanese as well as Korean.
by Anonymous, 17 Sep 2005The sushi was not fresh as one would expect from a Japanese restaurant. We had difficulty communicating with the waitress which was a shame. In fact, not a great experience.
by Anonymous, 30 Nov 2004Superb little place - you would almost miss it walkig past but once inside, offers beautiful sushi and even better Japanese dishes.
