Ronnie Scott's reviews
Went to Ronnie Scott's recently for the 4th-5th time. Have to say the service is getting worse. We had an Italian waitress who treated us like she hated us. Horribly rude. We had a meal and were stung by the service charge scam; particularly unfair as you are virtually in the dark and cannot read your bill. Worse still, we left an additional tip. In the end our tip came to almost 25% of the bill! Love Ronnie Scott's but the management need a kick in the rear end. Won't be going back for a while...

Beware 'service charge' rip-off. Why do the management think they can put an automatic service charge on your bill when you buy drinks at the bar? Isn't this illegal? You have to actually request that it's taken off, which most people won't do as they won't even be aware they've had the nerve to put it on in the first place!

We'd heard so much about this place, we went for a special occasion. We shouldn't have bothered. There was a pillar in the way so we couldn't see the stage, and the ticket wasn't cheap either. Food and drink really expensive. Arrogant management. A complete waste of money. We should've gone to Pizza Express jazz night - at least you're allowed to have fun there. Can't recommend Ronnie Scott's to anyone. Very disappointed.

You have to go even if it's only to say you have been there. I like to cut a rug on the dance floor but not on carpet!

Oh dear... what happened there? Incompetent staff, thuggish red-eyed management, terrible atmosphere. Don't waste your money, unless you are a low-class gangster and enjoy being with people of your kind.

Went to see Alex Wilson and his Salsa Orchestra. Already knew they were fantastic but wow, they were good. Torturous not being able to dance. Expensive enough but a really nice evening out. The upstairs bar bit is a little weird but fun! It's 20 years since I was last here. Shame they have carpet everywhere upstairs now - not really very good to dance on guys!

I have been to Ronnie Scott's several times over the last few years, and I have always enjoyed the experience. Maybe one day I will be the featured artist.

Vastly overpriced, intimidating atmosphere, inedible food, incompetent management, threatening staff and a lousy sound system. A wonderful recipe to ruin a special night out. Go elsewhere to see jazz - it will sound better, save you money and be more enjoyable.

Brilliant music but terribly overpriced food and drinks - better off going and seeing a show in the west end for this price. Avoid the food if you can and focus on the music.

A venue trading on past glories. Obsequious and/or stroppy staff, cramped seating, and a grandstand view of racist abuse of one of the bouncers by a couple of drunk customers. Not what one pays West End prices for.

Went for my work Christmas party and it was great. Service was excellent and the entertainment was outstanding. Can't wait to go again!

I went there for the Funk Brothers show last Saturday.
Great experience. 5 stars (music, food, cocktails). For sure one of those places you should visit before you die.
