Quintessentially reviews
From being a member of Q for just a few months and reading the very mixed reviews here, it seems obvious that the 'basic' members (like myself) are given much worse service than others. In a way that makes sense, but actually, paying £750 a year should at least mean that people return your calls and respond to your requests, even if it is a negative answer.
However, in terms of booking and recommending places to go to in London or otherwise, it's great. It's perfect to have them sort out this part of life that can otherwise be annoying. For anything else, they have yet to impress me. I have tried booking tickets for events and have forgotten about it myself, just to receive a phone call the same day or the day after the event, telling me that they can't find tickets, or they can find tickets that are ridiculously expensive.
I have paid for a year and have almost 10 months to go, so I'll give them that time to impress me, although right now I'm really not sure. But then, what are the options?

I am lucky enough to work for a company that pays for me to be a member of a concierge lifestyle company. However, I have had so many bad experiences with them over the past year that I have bought my own membership to Q and cannot believe the difference. Being a frequent traveller, it's great that they have offices around the world. My last holiday was in the Maldives and because I'm a Q member not only did we get reduced rates but an upgrade on our room, free spa treatments and a free lunch in the restaurant. Great stuff.

Quintessentially sucks. Staff were not professional and kept bluffing about their connections. I will not renew my membership.

I joined Q last year and have yet to be disappointed. I have my own lifestyle manager who is very efficient, charming to deal with and delivers on every request. For my wife's birthday recently, they even surprised us with a bottle of complimentary champagne and birthday cake in the hotel we were staying in. Great service!

I love Quintessentially. They sort out my life on a daily basis and have done for the past 2 years. Highly recommended.

Just renewed for my 4th year. I find the service invaluable; with my busy schedule I could not do without having one number to call 24/7 to organize everything. I also travel a lot and they are the only concierge service with offices in 35 cities around the world. They always have local knowledge on the best places when I call from any country. All the people who I have spoken to have been savvy and very efficient.

Quintessentially terrible. Poor service and very rude staff. A real shame.

I have been a member now for 4 years but will not be renewing my membership. They take forever to get back on requests and in some cases just forgot. The service is non-existant and they certainly cannot perform miracles - if hotels or restaurants are booked up they cannot find spaces (as they claim they can). They will offer alternatives, but if I wanted somewhere different I would have asked. In fact, the internet actually does better, both on price and availability, and it's instant too.
There are now several levels of membership according to price. Do they pay less attention to the bottom rung? It would appear so.

"Focused on 'accessing the inaccessible', we aim to make life that much easier, that much richer and that much more fun." This is a quote from their website. I have never heard such bulls**t!
You ask them to do something, it takes a zillion years for them to get back. I asked for a couple of football tickets abroad; they couldn't come up with the goods after searching for two weeks but a week later I found them myself online. I asked them for a few restaurants and nightclubs in Denmark; they sent me information from a random website which they copied and pasted into an e-mail. I booked Marriott London through Quintessentially; rather than being upgraded I was given the worst room ever - the hotel didn't even know what Quintessentially was about!
I would be more satisfied if I paid the membership fee to a charity rather than to this useless bunch of people.

Recently joined this outfit and have yet to understand why I pay the membership fee. Anyone these days can get in on a club guest list if you call them in advance, and restaurant bookings surely we can organise ourselves. Went to a Quintessentially members' party in London and have never seen such a collection of wannabe celebrity desperado name-droppers (guests and 'Q' staff alike).
I cannot agree more with some of the comments already made regarding their quotes for concert tickets, and wouldn't be surprised if their 'contacts' were actually off ebay. I also don't take kindly to being fed rubbish by Quintessentially staff. When I was enquring about tickets for the Madonna concert I got told "The tickets we have are reserved for Madonna's friends and family, so they are fantastic". So I tried to book 2 there and then and low and behold they didn't have any: "Apologies, we have just spoken to the office of Madonna and it now turns out she is requesting those seats"... As I said, wannabe celebrity desperado name-droppers.

Terrible. They cannot get the simplest thing right and overcharge you for their 'help'.

Terrible service. Unhelpful staff. Poor performance. Just a bunch of socialites (or for the most part wannabe socialites) on the make. Oh, and the prices of the stuff they come up with... laughable.

I was a member for about 5 years but have since let my membership lapse. I had more contacts than they did, and I never got any real value out of them in the States. Everything they did find for me I could usually find in a fraction of the time and for less money.

Quintessentially definitely access the inaccessible - went to an amazing gala last night and sat in the same row as Kylie Minogue!

Very polite staff but that's as far as it goes. Most of the arrangements they claim to have with hotels and clubs are untrue.
So you pay for a service which books things on your behalf. They claim to make things happen in the last minute however they can't get things done in advance, let alone last minute. Don't rely on them because there is a good chance you will be let down.

First three simple queries mishandled: simple hotel research, RSVP for one of their events, etc. Seems good service can not be had at any price these days. Too bad... I really was looking forward to using the service.

Quintessentially has improved leaps and bounds over the past couple of years. Whether it is clubs, restaurants or travel, they always come through and I have found response times to be pretty quick.
Particularly good on the international front - I am not sure any other of these services have a physical presence in NYC, Hong Kong, LA etc.

I moved to Quintessentially from Amex Centurion and have now gone back to Amex, with head bowed in shame. Q were useless and never seemed able to deal with enquiries in good time, often coming back after an event to tell me they could not get tickets. Once they even said tickets for an event were not on sale, when I had already bought tickets direct having given up on them. Centurion, however, is a superb service.
