Ozer reviews
I'd been to Ozer some time ago and thoroughly enjoyed it - and so was looking forward to my visit on 14th Feb. There appeared to be a lot more tables crammed in, so we were a bit squashed. And what's happened to the menu? Fish and chips?? Anyway, the starter was lovely but the main was not as I expected (even though I had asked several questions about it before ordering) and tasted most unpleasant.
I asked if I could change it and they duly did. By the time it arrived, my friends had all finished. It still wasn't what I was expecting (different to the description on the menu), it was dry and the vegetables were stone cold. I took two mouthfuls and pushed it away - it was quite revolting.
So Ozer - very, very disappointing I am sorry to say, and I won't be going back.

I phoned ahead to inform them of my food allergy, which they confirmed was okay. They advised I check with the waiter on my arrival. After much questioning to ensure my food was okay, I was served food with flour in it (I am a coeliac with severe reactions to gluten). When I pointed out that I expressly asked before ordering and that the waiter had indeed gone to check with the kitchen, his response was "I didn't check with the kitchen, they were busy". To me, that is completely unacceptable to lie to a customer who has said how serious her allergy is. I can accept mistakes but to be misinformed willingly is a gross error by a restaurant.

Reasonable food but with a tendency to over-garnish. The simpler presentation of competitive Turkish restaurants in the area is sometimes to be preferred. Doesn't seem to provide for allergy sufferers. An unusual amount of sesame dressing is used, even in ice cream, and the bread is also sesame-seeded, without an available alternative. So if in doubt remember to ask. Expensive drinks too.

Great value & great food with friendly attentive staff. The Pide (the Anatolian ancestor of pizza) is worth the visit alone.

Fantastic value for money, incredibly efficient and friendly staff and all this just a stone's throw from Oxford Circus.

Excellent Turkish restaurant - Highly recommend it!
Trendy "chill-out" / bar area with cushions etc. for a truly Ottoman feel.
