High Road Brasserie reviews
This place is a joke! Went there on a Thursday evening and had one of our worst experiences in many years!
Bottom line: Very poor service, very poor food at a very serious price.
Details: Lobsters no good, veal a la Milanese tasteless, noodles over-salted, starters less than average, wine recommendations a joke. Service was ridiculous - waitress filling up glasses, already half full, with white wine and trying to sell us the next bottle although we had not even started drinking.
Paid a lovely £180 for a VERY disappointing experience. Do yourself a favour and just do not go there.
Excellent location, very friendly staff, food and wine great. Have fitted us in at the last minute on two occasions now.
Oh, and I love the floor tiles!
Had brunch here. Lovely food, and staff were very nice despite it being very busy. Will go again!
by feena, 01 May 2007Fabulous food, great service. I am very fussy and they did everything possible to accommodate me without making it seem like a chore. Atmosphere great even though we were not on a great table. Another fine example that Nick Jones really knows his stuff.
by Lavina (3 reviews), 30 Oct 2006Becoming a victim of its own success. A busy Thursday night dinner included a cupboard key in my friend's mussels - a first for all of us - and a very average skirt steak and chips. I won't be going back.
by FG, 23 Oct 2006Very slow service. Some of the waiting staff are not too bright! Last time we went for breakfast and waited 40 minutes for the food. When it came it was lovely but unacceptably slow for the high price.
