Langan's Brasserie reviews
An old institution that should now be put to rest. Latest visit is the last. Reheated food (it seems like, it would be very hard to prepare it like that if not!), disinterested and slightly rude service, bright lights, and general couldn't-care-less attitude all round. Has turned into the sort of restaurant you try to avoid. Prices bang up to date though - cover and 20% service added.

We went for a Saturday lunch. Service was very poor. They sat us in the doorway on a bitterly cold January day, so we asked to move and the waitress just about managed a smile. We had to ask for cutlery. We ordered champagne as an aperitif but no sooner had we got it than our soup arrived! We asked if they could NOT rush us as we were there for a lazy lunch... it was the weekend after all. Then we ordered a £50 bottle of red wine, which they served chilled! They hadn't even bothered to bring it up to room temperature. Not impressed, sorry. Food was good though, if that's any consolation.

Great, buzzy atmosphere. Good menu, properly cooked food. Usually fun, reliable and good quality. Makes for a good night out.

Very good food and a great atmosphere. Had a most enjoyable meal with friends and everyone commented on how good the whole experience was.

Good food and efficient service but the maitre d' could take some lessons in manners from the cloakroom attendant.

Don't know why there are so many negative comments about this brasserie. Absolutely one of the best in London for atmosphere, service and properly cooked unpretentious food (the swordfish is excellent). This place is a fine substitute for any of my favourite Paris bistros or brasseries. It almost gives Brasserie Flo a run for its money!

Langan's is an institution. I went the second week after it opened and have been many times since over the thirty plus years. The menu hasn't changed much but it still delivers good quality food, the ambiance is great and the waiters are generally good fun. Every time I go there it is packed out, despite various critics giving it bad reviews - they just don't get what it is about!

It's an upmarket greasy spoon trading on its former
glory, like so many other old restaurants in London.

This restaurant has lost all its charm and ambiance dramatically over the last 10 years. The food is appalling - microwaved, not fresh and all dishes are swimming in butter and salt. A much more satisfying meal can be had at any other nearby establishment - Automat, Cecconis, The Wolseley...
The management is beyond poor. It needs to put in some damage limitation now (perhaps it's too late) to lure back the kind of customer Langan's enjoyed in the past.

Absolutely out of this world. Great environment, with a real buzz, and the food is really special. Top marks.
