The most pretentious place I've ever seen - all pomp and no substance. Dreadful food, dreadful service and no atmosphere - clearly other people think the same as the two times I have been there, there hasn't been a soul in there.

There's a strange sensation that you're in your aunty's front room in this restaurant, which has 70s decor including dodgy wallpaper. That said, the service was excellent, the scallop starter was cooked to perfection and I honestly think the rack of lamb main was the best I've had in a very long while.

We went on a Friday night and the restaurant was almost empty, which was a shame as the food was great. I did feel slightly self conscious with 2 of us eating and 2 waiters stood around with little to do, whilst a (very good) double bass player plucked away for our amusement. It would have all felt better if more people had been there to enjoy it, and I gather that's usually the case.
The only other issue for us was the restaurant looks out onto a large housing estate - not meaning to be elitist- it's just not the nicest of views.
Anyway, assuming it's usually busier, I'd definitely recommend it.
