Oxo Tower reviews

Had a great time at Oxo brasserie last week. The food is out of this world - lots of unusual ingredients, very fresh, zingy and tasty. Great staff, friendly and efficient. Recommend you go to the bar for cocktails afterwards!

I recently went to the Oxo Tower because it had been recommended to me by a friend, but never again. The reason? Well, the welcome was poor, the food had no taste (very bland), and I waited 30 minutes between main course and dessert. The only things that I did like were our waiter and the views, but sorry Oxo Tower, you won't be seeing me again.

What can I say? Great food and good service but EXPENSIVE! Would I go back? Yes. Would I take visitors? Maybe special guests.

Went to Oxo Tower with colleagues for Xmas. Was overwhelmed by the helpful waiters. The view was stunning. The food was good (not as good as I thought it would be for the price, but not too bad). I'm a big dessert lover but the sorbet was not nice and I had to leave it. But all in all, it deserves praise.

I totally agree with Milla about this place, I was very disappointed. Yes, OK it has a nice view of London (not the best). But the food is very overpriced and the main meals are very small - too small... I actually felt hungry once I had left.

I took my wife for a birthday lunch and found the menu very limited (nothing really jumped out at me), plus the wine was ridiculously overpriced. My wife had veal, which we both thought was raw (like uncooked chicken breast). Had to send it back; it came back slightly better but still tasted bland and undercooked. Two starters and two mains later, plus a bottle of wine, my wallet felt very light.

Not somewhere I will be going back to. We could have had three meals elsewhere in London, same quality for the same cost. Pretentious and overpriced. Just came back from a cruise and the food every night on board was far better than here!

If you're happy to pay for a truly wonderful view, make a reservation now... but to be honest, you will probably be left disappointed. I wouldn't describe the food as inedible, just bland and excessively overpriced. The staff were okay (no complaints) but nothing really stands out about this place except for the view.

First time back here in a long while. Great views. My host is a regular, so service was fantastic. Food was good - vegetarian menu is recommended. Not exactly cheap though, I'm guessing.

OK, restaurant itself lovely. Staff were bad, food not good and very expensive. I believed the reputation of the Oxo Tower but the menu was not impressive. To make me go back they will have to make serious changes. Not good.

Absolutely lovely. Always feel like we will have a good meal here. Even when the restaurant was particularly cold, they brought round free hot mulled wine to warm us up. Would always go back.

Went there for my birthday. Was impressed with service to start, then it went downhill from there. Food was very average. Main meals: sea bass was very tasty but served with an odd bean thing; partner had lamb and there was nothing positive about it - meat was overcooked and dry and was served with posh baked beans and some strange-tasting version of humous. They seriously overcomplicated the dishes. Then to add insult to injury, they charged us for loads of drinks we hadn't ordered and mislaid my partner's bank card. Would never return.

We had a great dinner at Oxo to celebrate my new job. What a treat! The service was amazing, the food excellent, and they even took our photo. We will be back, without doubt. Thank you for making it so special.
