The Club Bar & Dining reviews

We'd booked the Valentine's Day set menu, and we'd booked early so that we could go to the theatre afterward. We arrived at 5pm and they denied that we'd even booked at all! We didn't get to place our orders for half an hour and then weren't fed until shortly after six. Because we needed to go to the theatre we had to leave without our desserts. We also left without paying, and I gave the manager a piece of my mind, which probably disturbed other diners but made me feel a lot better! Seriously, avoid this place. It killed Valentine's Day for us.

Don't even waste your time... The food is overpriced, tasteless, cutlery was dirty and the service is slow. The waiter even had the cheek to argue with us because he felt the tip we were offering was too small. The manager was just as rude when we complained about his behaviour.

Complete rubbish. My wife and I went there for an anniversary meal and I can't ever remember being more disappointed in a restaurant. The staff were rude and ignored us despite the place being virtually empty. When the food did arrive it was cold and the portions were tiny. We complained but the staff were more focused on flirting with each other. Avoid this place!!

Service was awful (arrogant), food was OK (although small portion sizes). Falsely advertised a St Patrick's Day special: yes, they had a Paddy's Day menu, but no, 'free' oysters and pint of Guinness wasn't free. Also it was pretty much empty, but still took ages for food to arrive. Did I miss out that it was overpriced...? Avoid.

Overpriced rubbish. Tasteless food, small portions, lack of choice. Lounge wasn't open as promised and advertised. Saw the kitchen staff throw most of the food away. Rubbish. Never ever going back.

I always enjoy drinking in The Club, but had the worst meal I have ever experienced there last night and would certainly not recommend it for dining.

Our food took an hour and a half to come, one of the meals didn't arrive at all and when it finally did it wasn't what had been requested. We also ordered a bottle of wine to have with our meal which didn't arrive until after we had eaten. When we said that we no longer needed it, the waiter was extremely rude and petulant towards us.

Terrible food, extremely miserable and aggressive service, a complete farce. Steer clear.

Very friendly and relaxed, one of the bars in the area that showed us a good time. Recommend it to anyone without any 'hang-ups'.

Oh dear. Well presented restaurant and bars, average food and the worst service in the west end, if not London. I feel that I would have been treated better in Burger King. No joke. The manager is a rude, arrogant and very unpleasant person indeed.

A fab bar and restaurant with a great atmosphere, even on a Wednesday night. The staff were charming and attentive.

I wonder at the bad comments. As far as I'm concerned, it was one of the coolest bars I've been to. Nice music, great tasting food and cocktails, and the staff are simply wonderful.

Average food, awful sevice, half empty on a Saturday night (I wonder why!).

A splendid place to enjoy good food and drinks within a warm environment. Simon Jordan was present during my visit and was as welcoming as ever!

One of the most unpleasant dining experiences of my life.

Myself and a group of 9 other friends had booked a couple of weeks in advance for the 'famous' pig roast at this place.

We booked the table for 8pm and arrived on time, the food didn't arrive till 9. As we were approaching finishing our meal we were told that we had to be off the table by 10, claiming that we had been told this when we booked (which was absolute rubbish). For them to expect us to have eaten our meal and be ready to leave in an hour is ridiculous.

When we objected the manager grew increasingly rude, whilst offering us petty incentives of a bottle of champagne to move downstairs, with no table to sit at. After our further objections we were told by the manager that we were being "f**king awkward". Very nice customer service!

Then when the bill arrived it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. When I booked I was told the price for the pig - a not insignificant £230 - included all the trimmings. When the bill arrived every single side dish (wedges, greens etc.) had been added on as extra.

After much more arguing and abuse from the manager (the waiting staff, incidentally, were pretty good but the manager didn't seem to have a clue) we eventually got a reduction in our bill, but by then the whole evening was pretty much ruined and we were all in a foul mood.

A real pity as the pig was fantastic. I can't fault the food or the drinks, but please do not go to this place unless you are prepared to be treated like s**t.

Had a disaster of a night here this weekend when celebrating a friend's birthday. Waited over an hour for our table only for the staff to attempt to seat our group over two separate tables. We had to ask twice for someone to take our drinks order. We were given a limited set menu to order from which had no prices on it. We had waited so long to be seated that most of the items on the menu were no longer available or only available in limited numbers, with no alternatives offered.

The birthday girl spent much of the night in tears as it was such a sham. Staff were rude and only made a bad situation worse. We were eventually given free champagne as an apology but it would take much more than that to tempt us back. The few Z-listers there seemed to be having fun but my advice is to avoid it!

Wondered after previous comments. Went on a Tuesday night and everything great. Food excellent. Steaks superb.

I agree with a previous review. Went on Friday night for a birthday and the waiting staff were rude and disorganised. We waited ages to have our order taken and even for the water we requested... Shame, as the food was not bad when it eventually turned up. Steer clear of the 'large' salads though - a massive rip-off!

The service was terrible. Promised food when we booked, but were only offered chips because we were downstairs. Got unceremoniously 'shifted' on arrival of Z-lister! Not an experience I would recommend or repeat.
