The Club Bar & Dining reviews
Very friendly and relaxed, one of the bars in the area that showed us a good time. Recommend it to anyone without any 'hang-ups'.
by perera, 11 Jan 2008Oh dear. Well presented restaurant and bars, average food and the worst service in the west end, if not London. I feel that I would have been treated better in Burger King. No joke. The manager is a rude, arrogant and very unpleasant person indeed.
by jackiechan, 04 Dec 2007A fab bar and restaurant with a great atmosphere, even on a Wednesday night. The staff were charming and attentive.
by vicky g, 05 Oct 2007I wonder at the bad comments. As far as I'm concerned, it was one of the coolest bars I've been to. Nice music, great tasting food and cocktails, and the staff are simply wonderful.
by jdanyel, 15 Sep 2007A splendid place to enjoy good food and drinks within a warm environment. Simon Jordan was present during my visit and was as welcoming as ever!
by Neon, 28 Jan 2007One of the most unpleasant dining experiences of my life.
Myself and a group of 9 other friends had booked a couple of weeks in advance for the 'famous' pig roast at this place.
We booked the table for 8pm and arrived on time, the food didn't arrive till 9. As we were approaching finishing our meal we were told that we had to be off the table by 10, claiming that we had been told this when we booked (which was absolute rubbish). For them to expect us to have eaten our meal and be ready to leave in an hour is ridiculous.
When we objected the manager grew increasingly rude, whilst offering us petty incentives of a bottle of champagne to move downstairs, with no table to sit at. After our further objections we were told by the manager that we were being "f**king awkward". Very nice customer service!
Then when the bill arrived it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. When I booked I was told the price for the pig - a not insignificant £230 - included all the trimmings. When the bill arrived every single side dish (wedges, greens etc.) had been added on as extra.
After much more arguing and abuse from the manager (the waiting staff, incidentally, were pretty good but the manager didn't seem to have a clue) we eventually got a reduction in our bill, but by then the whole evening was pretty much ruined and we were all in a foul mood.
A real pity as the pig was fantastic. I can't fault the food or the drinks, but please do not go to this place unless you are prepared to be treated like s**t.
Had a disaster of a night here this weekend when celebrating a friend's birthday. Waited over an hour for our table only for the staff to attempt to seat our group over two separate tables. We had to ask twice for someone to take our drinks order. We were given a limited set menu to order from which had no prices on it. We had waited so long to be seated that most of the items on the menu were no longer available or only available in limited numbers, with no alternatives offered.
The birthday girl spent much of the night in tears as it was such a sham. Staff were rude and only made a bad situation worse. We were eventually given free champagne as an apology but it would take much more than that to tempt us back. The few Z-listers there seemed to be having fun but my advice is to avoid it!
Wondered after previous comments. Went on a Tuesday night and everything great. Food excellent. Steaks superb.
by Anonymous, 29 Nov 2006I agree with a previous review. Went on Friday night for a birthday and the waiting staff were rude and disorganised. We waited ages to have our order taken and even for the water we requested... Shame, as the food was not bad when it eventually turned up. Steer clear of the 'large' salads though - a massive rip-off!
by Richard7, 20 Nov 2006The service was terrible. Promised food when we booked, but were only offered chips because we were downstairs. Got unceremoniously 'shifted' on arrival of Z-lister! Not an experience I would recommend or repeat.
by Fiona Davy, 20 Oct 2006Have we missed a great restaurant in London? Let us know.
