The Landau reviews
I look forward to visiting Landau again soon. Thank you.

Starters arrived and a tiny portion of ravioli with nothing to recommend it cost £12! Main courses took around one and a half hours to arrive, since we believe the manager who took our orders forgot to call the starters away. When the mains finally arrived, we were already very annoyed and we didn't enjoy it as much as we should have.
The food itself was OK. The halibut was quite nice; however, the duck main was cold for one of the party. We did get apologies from the manager, but still I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. They need URGENT training in service and smiling! All things considered, it's overpriced too - for the 4 of us we paid something like £250, with only one bottle of wine.

My girlfriend and I had dinner at the Landau last night, in celebration of her birthday. I had not been before, and wanted something special for the occasion. I had selected the Landau on the basis of this and other review websites, and so was slightly apprehensive in case the reality did not live up to the grandiose-looking menu and photographs on the website. I need not have worried.
Inside the restaurant, the décor and setting are truly superb; extremely stylish and luxurious, yet happily without making one feel like one is in some type of Gentleman's snooker club off Mayfair.
The food is exquisite. Simply the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant. We both had the grazing menu and all five courses were sublime, with the highlight unquestionably being the halibut and mussels in a curry sauce. The wine recommended to us by the very knowledgeable and friendly sommelier was fantastic, and complimented the meal beautifully.
Finally the service. For me, I think this is what made the entire evening so fabulous. Throughout our meal there was excellent, attentive, but not overly-intrusive, service as one would expect from a venue of this calibre. In addition however, there was the consistent bonhomie of Mohammed the sommelier through out our meal, and finally the courtesy and genial conversation with the Head Waiter, Sebastian, at the close. These two gentlemen between them have ensured that I post this review on all the notable food websites this morning.
The meal was not inexpensive, but frankly it was worth every penny to sit opposite my girlfriend and watch her smiling with excitement from the moment we arrived until the moment we donned our jackets at the end.
I cannot recommend this venue highly enough. Book your table now.
